This is the first game I have been to this year and the game was great which is the most important thing but the show has hit an all time low Show? If you mean the experience, you’ve clearly missed a lot of games for several years. We’re doing quite a lot with a little money. The university is recovering from vast overspending and the “show” has certainly been less entertaining in the past. I’ll take a winning team over it all and that’s exactly what we’re putting on the floor, consistently.

I said the team and the game were the most important thing. The was nothing going on during breaks or halftime. They inducted people into the Air Force which wad great then there wad 10 minutes of dead time. I have been going to games since 1979 and I have never seen it this bad. Everyone around us was talking about it

This was our best crowd of the year and on par or better with the excitement level of the game experience the past couple years. It is what is. Seems clear the program has put an emphasis on the basketball product for now and will invest in the game experience whenever we have some money to spend again.

There were four of us in my group and none of us could understand the Nutter Center public address announcer. I asked a few more friends after the game about this and they all agreed that they can only understand every third word or so that the guy says. Do not remember that problem when my former Marketing teacher, Gordie, had that job. I agree. He's too far over the top. He needs to slow down, stop being so dramatic and announce the game like a pro. It's one thing to attempt to create some enthusiasm and another thing to try to be the show.

It would not cost much to have a little half time entertainment. Examples of cheap entertainment that they have done in the past: (1) bring back former players and have them take part in a 3 point shooting contest, that could kill 15 minutes and give us something to look at. Might be kinda fun seeing some fat, old, bald, former Raider stars chucking up some three's. (2) Or bring in some Centerville Hustle or local CYO teams and have them play at half-time. (3) Maybe even, if possible, drag out the old Rowdy Raider Orange Guy and let him sling half court hook shots for 20 minutes. (4) If there are any students left at WSU that play intramural or pick-up basketball, they could play at half-time. (5) just please put something out there that is basketball related, don't care to watch an award presentation unless it is a Championship presentation of some type for the basketball team. BUT MY FRIENDS AND I WERE IMPRESSED BY THE SIZE OF THE RAIDER BAND AT THE GAME, THAT WAS ENCOURAGING. All very good ideas. Believe it or not, the athletic department DOES read this message board from time to time. The best half time entertainment, to me, is something that we can all relate to as part of the Wright State experience. Any professional act that we would book will cost between $2,000 and $5,000. That money simply isn't available any longer. Getting local groups and alumni groups involved would be a smart thing to do.

That money simply isn't available any longer. Getting local groups and alumni groups involved would be a smart thing to do. Does anyone remember when they had the free airfare contest? They gave everyone contest papers that we folded into paper airplanes. At halftime everyone would throw theirs onto the court, and whomever got it in the center logo would be entered into the final drawing. They drew for the winner and the winner got what was I believe free roundtrip airfare in the continental US anywhere the Dayton Airport flew. Would something like this be possible? And if so, is it something the Dayton Airport would offer for free as it would give them great publicity? Those are the type of things I miss. It kept fans entertained and was fun. I also wish they did more of the halftime shootouts. One lucky fan or student would attempt a layup, free throw, 3 pointer, and finally half court shot with the prizes getting better with each shot. I think if you made the 1/2 court shot you won a billiards table. Fans LOVED watching this. I mean who doesn't like watching a little mini game show at halftime? And I also liked the kids musical chairs contest. Point being there are definitely little things they could do that wouldn't cost much, if anything. I would think a lot of the prizes could be given by companies wanting free publicity...

They have done this contest or a very similar one at halftime of every home game this season. (except the prize isn't a billards table)

I havent been to any games yet, and I guess reading some of the other posts about it seemed like nothing was going on at halftime. That's great they do that. Always love watching fellow Raider fans win stuff.

One game 15 or 20 years ago, they were trying to increase the number of students coming to the games. They designated a certain parking lot for students, and then chose one car at random. During the game they announced the license plate number, and that student won a free quarter of tuition. I sure did appreciate that since we had six kids living at home at the time.

Why dont the cheerleaders or dance ream do anything i have never seen a more inactive group of cheerleaders at a game Remember the Raider Jam before the game. Some of the women i go to games with have been involved with this type of thing and they remember how good the spirit squads used to be

We have a team that is performing better than in past few years. They are playing more exciting basketball and winning. Now, we have people complaining about halftime activities. I will chose exciting and winning basketball over any halftime entertainment. I can kill my time in line at restroom and concession stands or talking to the fans around my seat.

Perhaps if there were speakers in the rear of the seating area the echo off of the tall Nutter Center walls wouldn’t be so bad. All of the speakers above center court face out and the sound bounces off the walls and ceiling. Thats the issue with the inability to understand the speaker. I loved Gordie, but I think the new guy brings more to the game atmosphere.
