2005 WSU alum and season ticket holder for many seasons now. Read this board all the time and signed up for an account to specifically chime in on this thread. Not sure why all of the hate on the PA guy? I'm pretty sure it's 90% PA system and 10% y'alls hearing aids. I think he brings good energy. Unfortunately we live in a world now where everything needs to be an experience and Instagram worthy. Yes, we have an exciting brand of basketball now and that is enough for us hardcore fans but not the casual ones. Someone in the athletic department is going to have to get creative and do a lot with very little to take that next step with fans.

The point all of you keep ignoring is none of this CAN change unless we cut funding from our basketball program. Our budget is set in stone due to the financial problems the university is in. So none of this can or will change unless one of you steps up and writes a big ass check to WSU or you tell Nagy he needs to take a big ass pay cut. Neither option is going to happen so this whole discussion is a waste of time. This topic has 4 pages so obviously it's interesting to talk about, even if you don't think so.

This discussion is not a waste if time. Considering the amount if responses it is obviously important to people. And it does not cost anything to have the band play or to have the spirit squads do something at time outs or halftime. At the Youngstown State game why didn't the dance team perform after the Air Force induction Exactly. You get it.

Years ago I was invited to be part of a fan committee by the Assistant Athletic Director. I’m sure others on this message board were also part of this committee. We met at the hotel across from campus and wE talked about ideas for creating a better game experience and this was back when we had some money to spend. Even back them part of the problem was just coordinating all of the groups involved with the game experience. The announcer, the band, the cheerleaders, the dance team, the in house music, the halftime entertainment, and the concession stands are all under separate management. It was a challenge for the Assistant AD to even coordinate all of these separate groups. I can’t even imagine how challenging it is now that there are not as many people in these roles plus the financial constraints of the university. The one thing I wish we could do is just get the little things right. Like having hot dogs ready on hot dog night. Having paper towels stocked in the bathrooms. Making sure the signage on the building does not have lights out.

I also would love to take a bus to away games with some hotel and sightseeing in between. Hope we get a bus trip to NKU. Opti As a new season ticket holder, I’d definitely get behind this. I’ve come to the last few years NKU games and always notice how well they travel to our arena.

I doesn't look like any additional Concession Stands are open for tonight's game. Way to go Nutter staff. Biggest game of the year with a big crowd but you just go out of your way to piss the fans off. SMDH.

Great win! Great crowd! Great half-time! Kinda felt like 1992 out there tonight. I didn't feel a thing like 1992 last night. Last night was the most important game of the season for us and we got a crowd of 6217 and still had sections of seating tarped off. That would have been unheard of in 1992. In 1992 we still had the end zone seating that went all the way to the top of the Nutter Center and the idea of tarping off seating anywhere would have been laughed off as drunken talk. We got 6217 last night for our biggest game of the year. In 1992 we would have had 9-10,000 fans for a game that important to our season. Hell, we AVERAGED 7172 fans a game (#74 in the nation in attendance) in 1992. You guys can continue the discussion in this thread about whatever BS you think will make a difference in game experience. The truth is the most important thing that matters to game experience is having butts in the seats. Last night's 2/3 full Nutter Center was way more exciting than our typical 1/3 full Nutter Center. Attendance is never going to significantly improve until we play a better OOC schedule that people want to see and get into a conference that people care about. Last night we played the only team any casual fan is going to want to see us play in the HL. This conference is hot garbage. We could bring in the Laker girls and OSU marching band to perform during timeouts and have the pussycat dolls perform at halftime and our attendance is not going to improve when 7 of 9 conference game we play is against sub .500 teams. We have one hell of a team this year. They deserve much better fan support than they get. It's a damn shame.

bbj, that is not exactly a new problem is it? I can remember a number of times when something special was going on and a larger crowd was expected. I would walk up to the concourse behind our seats and one of the 3-4 stands would be open and 20 people would be lined up waiting for food. just really sours the people on coming to the Nutter.

Schedule better teams to draw people in, and improve other areas to keep them.
