Mississippi State Bulldogs aka the "Omadogs" beat Vandy 9-0 to win the CWS. It was their first-ever team national championship. Now Virginia Tech & Kansas State are the only two power five schools that haven’t ever won team national titles.
As I watched those two teams in their three games I couldn't help but notice that those two teams are a notch above our #RaiderGang. Their pitching is the biggest difference. It is much deeper than what #RaiderGang has. Both of those teams recruit nationally, while #RAiderGang recruits Cincinnati, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. WSU has done an incredible job with very limited resources. Success will bring more success. Wright State is well known to HS baseball programs and players in the above states. The future looks bright.

Excited to see what the future holds!

It has been well-documented how under-funded the Raider baseball Program is compared to the teams #RaiderGang is expected to compete against. Raider Coach Alex Sogard makes in the $90,000-$100,000 range. In the Big 10 Michigan’s Erik Bakich makes $806,289, Nebraska's Will Bolt makes $400,000, just ahead of third-place Rick Heller of Iowa making $376,500. Last I heard Indian's Jeff Mercer made around $250,000.
The key for #RaiderGang is to have that next coach ready to go. I think the next coach will probably be Nate Metzger. My guess is we have Sogard for one more year.

I think it started with Bob Grant and the head coaches have carefully chosen coaches that fit their system. I should also add that it is no secret that for at least the last three head coaches the staff has not hidden their strong Christian faith.

Now that we are halfway through the colligate summer league season, I think it is time to check in and see how our #RaiderGang boys are progressing. As was posted earlier the Raiders have players playing in nine different leagues across the country.
I will start with the Great Lakes Summer Colligate League. The GLSCL is a mid-tier league where about 25 percent of the players are Div I mostly with ties to Ohio and surrounding states.
Ryan Callahan (OF) Ohio Bison BA .244 Sammy Sasse (C) Hamilton Joes BA .325 Luke Arnold (INF) Hamilton Joes BA .291 Sebastian Gongora (P) Hamilton Joes ERA 2.55 Drew Baker (C) Cincy Steam BA .227 Avery Fisher (INF) Galion Graders BA .237 Jay Luikart (P) Galion Graders ERA .435

Tyler Black was selected 33rd overall by the Milwaukee Brewers (barf).
Highest ever draft spot for a WSU position player.

If you are picked just outside the first round then you were picked in the second round? No, your pick falls between the first and second round? Really? What the heck has happened to MLB?
