Raiders drop game one today 4-0, but come back in game 2 20-8. Frustrating to drop two league games in a row, will certainly drop our RPI a decent chunk.

The two losses only dropped the Raiders to 35 in the RPI. If I ever learn how this crazy RPI works for baseball I may start betting on the games.

Wow. Bad weekend for RaiderGang. Go from undefeated to droppimg 3 of 4 to a really mediocre team. Raiders still in first place, but series like that can be the difference in NCAA regional seeding.

Well, I have gotten over the shock of dropping three out of four last weekend. I guess it is important to remember that baseball is a marathon and not a sprint. Over the course of a season, there will be dry spells when your pitchers have a bad outing or your hitters don't hit. Baseball is a game where you have to keep plugging away and over the course of a season, the cream should and usually does, rise to the top.
This team seems to be a very good team. There is still time to finish strong. This team can make it to Omaha if they get hot.
Oh, and that darn RPI is still in the top 40 at 37! So, the Raiders have that going for them.

The Raiders as of today are 35 in the RPI. Two of the HL teams by playing Wright State have been elevated to Quad 3 teams YSU-143 and UIC-185. So, the egg Wright State laid last weekend was at least against a Quad 3 team.
That is as close to figuring out that Crazy RPI as I have gotten,

Wright State took a weekend off, why I do not know. But, I do know that the Raiders jumped up 14 spots in the RPI to 25 and as usual I do not know exactly why. But, living in the RPI Top 40 is really cool. www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2021/rpi-live

The NCAA confirmed Monday there will be a 64-team tournament this year, and there will be 16 regional sites and eight super regional sites on campuses--which is normal.
A lot different than NCAA VB and hoops being played in a bubble. The sites will all be predetermined and announced on May 10th.
Typically, the regional sites are merit-based, given to the highest-rated teams. And super regionals go to the highest-rated team still alive in that bracket.
They usually are announced just before the NCAA tournament bracket is released — which should of been at the end of May this year.
The NCAA said the regional bids will still be merit-based. But like in basketball and volleyball, the priority will be safety and getting all the games played without interruption. So, a team on track to get a number 2 or 3 seed might get to host over a number 1 seed if they could offer hotels close to the ballpark and they are not in an area with high COVID numbers.
So, what this means, I do not know--stay tuned.
The Raiders are shooting for a two-seed this year. I think there is a reasonable chance they can pull this off.

I imagine WSU is looking for OOC games then? 3 weekends without games is absurd.

This is great news. FGCU from Ft. Myers, is no pushover. Their RPI is a very respectable 51 (a Quad2 team), while the Raiders are at 29. A single win would not be fatal, two wins would be impressive and a sweep would be outstanding.
