Cleveland State took #21 Ohio State into a battle in Columbus. OSU won by 6, but it was no blow out at all. Chance of a WSU blow out of Cleveland State is nil to none. Defense wins championships and CSU has 10 deep with no drop off in the defense dept. After seeing the game last night, there is no doubt in my mind that Cleveland State is going to be HL champs this year. This is not Youngstown State who we are playing tonight. Ohio U also went on a 40-0 run against Cleveland State, the longest scoring run in NCAA history for a game with two D1 schools. CSU gets credit for bringing energy and scrappiness, but I don't think they're a great team. 3 wins decided in the last minute or OT is just as much luck as it is skill.

Cleveland State could most certainly be blown out. They have simply been able to win close games. Four of their Horizon wins have now been one-possession games (3 points or less). Of course it now looks as if they will win the Horizon. They have a comfortable lead, control their own destiny, and after tonight, will have the toughest portions of their schedule behind them.
The big thing is the inconsistency by Wright State. During Horizon play, it's either been a double-digit victory(smallest margin of victory is 13) or a loss. If I'm looking correctly at Haslametrics (http://www.haslametrics.com/ratings.php), Wright State is 3rd worst of all D1 teams in the consistency rating. Which Wright State team will show up tonight? Will the team be hungry for revenge or might they be demoralized with the regular season championship now seemingly out of reach?

I find two things truly disturbing about the raiders. No matter how far down this league sinks, from quality mid major to low major we have failed to step up and be “the team” in this league. Right now we fit right in with a bunch of low major, low quality programs. That is really disappointing.
Second, we have had fours years with a better than decent post presence. I feel that just as good football teams are built around a good qb, a good basketball team is built around a good post player. We have had that for four years and we have nothing no show for it. No quality wins, no wins in the dance. Only one ncaa bid and it was one and done. Just nothing.
Oh well. As many raider fans have told me over the years, the only games that matter are the ones in the post season tourney!!

No surprise we'd start out looking like the class of the conference tonight. Almost like we got punched in the face last night.

Really nice effort in the defensive end so far.

Lol I was just starting to think that Holden might be the hl star that would be getting calls like Matt Howard or Drew Mcdonald but I guess I was wrong as he was mugged and didn't get a call.

Surprised and not surprised at the exact same time. Gotta keep the pedal to the metal, go for the jugular, and hope other teams take notice. CSU at Oakland series is one to circle down the stretch.

Wonder what the hell is going on with this intentional foul call?
