Congrats, Raidergang!
Those Oakland fans were pathetic. They acted a certain way yesterday when WSU was on the ropes and had some younger WSU fans thrown out today when the shoe was on the other foot.
At the end of the day, the Raiders are dancing again.

Today Tristan Haught went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and eight strikeouts over 9.1 innings pitched in one day. You read that right! He got both wins today. He has really been dominate the last two weeks.

He also pitched 3.2 innings yesterday and and an inning on Thursday. I'm surprised his arm hasn't fallen off yet!

What a great day at the ballpark today. Horizon League three-peat for Raidergang.
Tristan Haught is superhuman! Gongora was great on Thursday, and Stofel's complete game shutout yesterday was awesome -- but what Haught did today tops them both. His is the best pitching performance I've ever seen live (at any level, LL to MLB, and I've seen an MLB no hitter). 2 1/3 innings and the win in relief the first game is already a feat considering he pitched 3 2/3 innings yesterday. But to then come back an hour later and start game 2? Your probably hoping to get 2 or 3 innings at most, then he pitches into the 8th? Gets the win in both games of a doubleheader in the championship final, with zero runs allowed either game (against a team that had already put up 8 when he entered game 1)! That is just unreal!!! And exactly what WSU needed, as both teams clearly had totally exhausted their bullpens over the last three days. With Friday's game included, across three games in 2 days, Haught pitched 13 total innings, allowed only 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 run. Unreal!
Jay Luikhart almost single handedly kept us in the first game, with 2 solo HRs, a triple, and 4 RBIs. Andrew Patrick also busted out, with the game winning HR in the first game (off the HL Relief Pitcher of the year), and a grand slam early in game 2. Great job by all, as every starter had at least 1 hit in the final game.
On to the regionals. Go raiders!!

Wow great comeback by the Raiders under pressure in the first win, and then to dominate in the 2nd game very impressive. It would be neat if they end up in the same quartet with Xavier. I was down at the Big East tourney earlier today and Xavier with an exciting comeback too overall to make it in the tourney. Raiders continue to be the best overall program in Ohio I would say, with Xavier maybe second, unless I'm forgetting someone?

I would say that this year Xavier (RPI 44) 37-23 is the best program in Ohio. Next would be either Kent State (RPI 46) 40-16 or Wright State (RPI 77) 39-21.

Indiana State is or was a comparable program to RaiderGang. They do have a bigger, nicer ballpark that seats about 2500. If you remember, RaiderGang took two of three from them last year at the Nisch.
But that was last year. They upped their game this year playing a killer schedule and going 42-15, with an RPI of nine. Their schedule is the 43th toughest and their out of conference schedule is ranked at number five. They are better than every team RaiderGang played this year but Kentucky and Arkansas. Anytime you are the four seed you have your work cut out for you. The good news Wright State can get on a run or just get lucky like a few teams did against the Raiders this year and win the Regional.
This is a drivable Regional too.
Terra Haute Regional June 2-5
#4 Wright State 39-21 (RPI 73) vs #1 Indiana State 42-15 (RPI 9) ESPN+ 1 pm #2 North Carolina 35-22 (RPI 27) vs # 3 Iowa 38-14 (RPI 32) ACCN 7 pm Other:
Xavier is a #3 Seed in the Nashville Regional

Good news: Wright State is a little better than Indiana State offensively.
Bad news: The Sycamores pitching is a lot better than our RaiderGang. Their ERA is ranked 10th and their fielding percentage in ranked number one.
It kind of reminds me of the Reds versus the Mets in the 1973 National League Championship. In the end the Mets had just enough pitching to stop the Reds offense. In my example RaiderGang = Reds and ISU = Mets.

NCAA.com picked RaiderGang as the dark horse that can win the Regional.
"Dark horse - Wright State: The Horizon League has become Wright State's to lose in the last handful of years — it's about time that dominance carries over to the NCAA tournament. This regional is wide open, and the Raiders' combination of strong hitting in the top half of the lineup and a star ace in Sebastian Gongora, it could be a different mid-major advancing past this regional."
And again, my negative take---this Raider team is not near as good as the 2021 team. But hey! Let's get on a roll and win this Regional.
