No way to sugar coat this game; it's going to be an absolutely bludgeoning. WKU is fast, athletic, and most importantly, defensively stout. I imagine we're going to have our hands full with their best player, Emmanuel Akot (a 6'8 guard), who will be a matchup nightmare based on our guard size. Adding to that is 3 point sharpshooper Luke Frampton who is cashing in 62% from deep. Lastly, they'll go at least 9 deep if not 10, and spread major minutes out to a roster that is very deep.
We've got all week to gameplan so the leash for excuses to not at least be prepared is nil, but playing only 6 guys isn't going to get this team and wins and it isn't going to keep team morale very high.

Totally agree but don't expect Coach to change. |

Hopefully we stick with two bigs in at the same time. Would still like to see more Andrew but this is a good start.

Just tuned in to the game on ESPN+ right before half, decided to turn on 980 to listen to the halftime stuff -- are Chris and Coach B not covering the game?

I've been tied up with a company holiday party all evening and couldn't get anything besides the box score updates. It seemed like we fought tooth and nail i until the under 4 and went ice cold? Is that the long and short of it?
This is another one of those "peer matchups" that if we closed better, we'd win. That's now 3 games, Davidson, Cal Riverside, and now WKU where it seems like we were in the game and just ran flat at the end.

We lost both of those games. We had leads and we were the better team on the court in both of those games and just blew it at the end. Western Kentucky was the better team last night. They were more athletic and had much more size. I think we played a much better game than we have played in the last couple of weeks and just came up short on getting an upset vs a 7-1 team on the road. It is disappointing that we didn't get the upset, but I was ok with the way we played. I also liked that we had 2 bigs on the court most of the night. |
