One note to this, Alex tweeted back at Calvin... Great news. Bill Edwards' record better watch out! In all seriousness, Trey can make a run at that career mark playing within the system and the team winning big....unlike Davis at UDM. I hope this does not dissuade any of the incoming recruits from staying but I certainly wonder what it means for Norris.

Are we full on scholarships now with one transfer out? Wasn’t Alex a walk on? I thought we were -1 with Alex getting a scholarship next year, so we're now good, with no scholarships available for next year to any new or transferring players.

Alex was going to get his scholarship One could make the assumption we aren't expecting any other attrition given that fact and we simply don't have the scholarship to give him that we had planned. Trey coming back is incredible news. I've been preparing for negative news every time I open this thread so today was a welcome surprise. As disappointing as this year was, there's reason for optimism that next year could now be a big bounceback season to keep our trajectory pointing up.

I can't believe it! So happy right now. I wasn't as worried about Alex transferring because going to a bigger school would be tough for him but Trey coming back changes the entire dynamic of the offseason. Keeping 2 high-caliber players and our best scorer is amazing.
I was so wrong on this one and I am so pumped right now.
Hopefully no more attrition happens.
Let's goooooooooo!!!

Trey staying on board is great news. I'm thinking that the upcoming trip to Italy may have been helpful with his making the decision to stay.

LET'S GO. Awesome news. Trey is a baller and he could play anywhere and get minutes. I seriously think he could play in the nba, he is phenomenal. We need to have an impact transfer but maybe that is easy sell with Trey and Noel.

Literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Hopefully it's a tiebreaker for anyone who is thinking about leaving. or a twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Trey went with the team on a trip to Italy his freshman season. Another benefit of the covid year - players might be able to get 2 international trips, which teams can only take once every four years.

The DDN article states this:
The Raiders were at the 13-scholarship limit until frontcourt sub Blake Sisley announced he was giving up basketball after only one season in the program, though he plans to stay in school.
Nagy indicated he intends to find a replacement for Sisley, who made four starts and appeared in 27 games but averaged just 2.7 points.

Thanks for that info. I hope he enjoys his experience beyond basketball at WSU. Wonder if anyone else is going to leave the program.

Its great to there was a way to help him with NIL and its great to hear his quote that he can get to where he wants at WSU. Every proud alumni would say the same. Disappointed to see Sisley leave. Hopefully they backfill him with a big.

This announcement by Trey makes my Monday so much brighter! Not to jinx him, but I'm guessing he's got to be a huge favorite for Horizon League Player of the Year next season.

Getting Trey back is obviously huge news but losing Sisley is a major blow with Alex Garcia also transferring out. We only have 2 legit interior players going into next season. We really need to bring in another big man with that open scholarship.
