This was the team we all expected this season. We have 2 more at home, forget the standings as the tiebreakers are not in our favor, if we can continue this kind of effort we have a chance in Indianapolis!

Who made you watch the game? F I was annoyed I would turn off and listen on the radio. The radio is not synced up with the ESPN. I just watched the game and listened to the Oklahoma radio announcers---they are excellent. Not sure how the syncing is accomplished, if is a matter of WiFi speed/latency, etc., but mine was only about a second off the entire game, so was acceptable. I've had it be off by a few seconds or more, which I admit can be pretty annoying so will just choose one over the other.

Great game so far from Braun. It feels like his offensive game has gotten even better as the season has gone along. AJ is our most improved play.

In reviewing the stats, I wonder if our 59 second half points are not the most given up by Oakland defense. We had overall good game on offense. The only down side was Tanner on 1-5 free throws, not like him. We out rebounded Oakland and had % and number of assists.

The way Alex, AJ and Brandon are playing is making me feel a lot better about next year. Definitely seem like the whole team is finding their footing. The way it looks, WSU at least will get the bye for the first round...just gotta get that home game. Congrats to the team and coaches on a big win

Still great to see the offense working so well after we struggled to score in our first game against them.

The radio is not synced up with the ESPN. I just watched the game and listened to the Oklahoma radio announcers---they are excellent. The announcers for Oklahoma might be good but the camera work sucks. The ESPN+ TV is always at least 10 seconds behind the radio for me, so I have to listen to the other teams announcers except during halftime and postgame. Neil Ruhl seemed much more subdued with "Of Course" today, but other than using that too much he's always good, and very complimentary of Wright States program. The color commentator was okay, but a little "Captain Obvious" at times. Certainly in the upper half of HL announcing teams. For the baseball, the Oklahoma TV announcers were rambling about golf, said OUs upcoming schedule at least 4 times (and promised to say Wright St's, but never did), and which position they put there legs or socks to kill a rally. Often did not even mention who was at bat for WSU. In other words, they were just bad. Did do a good job of updating scores from the rest of the Big 12. The camera work was worse, would leave the centerfield camera on then cut over to first base after the runner was already thrown out. Never showed a single replay.

I can't imagine playing for the guy, and he makes a great heckling target during games, but I have always appreciated Kampe's frankness and willingness to praise other programs during his interviews.

Impressive turnaround from halftime. We were getting punked at the end of the first half and Oakland was taking advantage of the refs letting them be overly-physical....while we were being underly-physical (if that's a word). We were playing soft on both ends of the floor.
In the second half however, we not only kept our lunch money...but we took most of theirs as well. The two guys who 'turned it on' the most at halftime were Holden and Noel IMO. Tanner wasn't taking any ish from their PG and got his butt to the rim with authority (finally). Noel stepped up defending in the paint and used his size all over the floor. Braun was tough the whole game and Calvin is Calvin. Alex can easily be the difference-maker in big games...he just has to get/keep the confidence to shoot the ball. He still passed up a few looks where I was yelling at the TV for him to shoot...that feels kind of funny to say.
I'm still leery of the lack of substitutions. I get it that that's a dual-edged sword. If we want to believe the argument that the guys AREN'T wearing down, then go with the argument about what happens if one of our 35+ minute men get into foul trouble. No matter who their sub is, that guy hasn't played much. That said, Carter and Brown were getting bounced around (physically) on the court and only Woods seemed able to deal with the physicality. Don't know what's up with Welage...he looks almost out-of-place...it's weird. We could use him for sure.
Lastly and in regards to the physicality of that game...that game is the poster child for why players should red-shirt if they aren't developed enough. We may not like it and the transfer rules certainly don't help, but Carter would have gotten killed in that game as a true freshman (and I think he's a tough kid) and Brown now certainly realizes that while he is solidly-built, it ain't enough in D1 and he also has to get stronger. Woods was able to hang in there, but I doubt he would have as a true freshman. I hope our fans, recruits and players' parents were watching.
