I good High School team could probably beat these guys. A complete joke to have this caliber of an opponent on the schedule.

With all due respect, I'm not so sure a little confidence-builder like this game isn't just the medicine for a loss to a powerhouse and a roster mix like ours lead by a new head coach. Perspectives.

18-14 WSU. As of writing this, we look really bad. Can't defend the 3 and Carter and Noel getting worked bu some d3 dudes.

Ohio Christian is pretty religious but every shot Norris takes looks like a prayer.

If Sargent stick with him we'll be lucky to win 10 games this year. Over matched defensively.

If Sargent stick with him we'll be lucky to win 10 games this year. Over matched defensively. If Norris gets starter minutes at Solomon's expense, they won't win 5 games against DI competition. If Solomon starts and Sargeant cuts him loose, this team can be decent.

Wow! Dismal Student turnout tonight. We got spanked by UK and playing a d3 school.

I had almost forgotten about Southerland until he subbed in. He averaged 1.6 pts per game for Liberty as a freshman? I guess im just confused on why he was targeted.
Overall happy with the way the Raiders played in the 2nd. Managed to get the score to a place that we would normally see in a game like this.
Big Mike (lol) is a rebounder for sure, obviously at an advantage vs smaller guys in this one but love the effort he shows.
Doumbia looks like he’s holding back a little but he started to show some things tonight. I think there is more there.
Good passing by Alex.
I expected more from Carter than i have seen so far. Hoping he steps up.
Woods is playing with more confidence this year.
Seems like we are missing the glue guy to tie everyone together, hopefully that will be Solomon.

Keaton reminded me a lot of the guys we were playing against tonight. I admire his efforts, he definitely wants to be good and to make it at this level. That is commendable and the dedication and strategic perseverance he has shown will no doubt benefit him in life after basketball. I just don’t know what else to say. It is what it is with Keaton and if Coach rolls with him based on “leadership” or something that would be a mistake, and for a first year coach especially.

Through 2 games I have to say that I really think Wright State made a huge mistake promoting Sargent. He is just way over his head and making really questionable decisions.
His staff: he should have targeted at least one veteran coach that could bring something new to the program. Instead he brought in 2 coaches with no coaching experience.
Scheduling: we are 2 games into the season and haven’t played a game that is going to help us prepare for the HL yet.
Game prep: what coach in their right mind goes to a place like UK and tries to play at their pace. The reason Butler was able to dominate the HL and complete against ranked team regularly when they were in the conference was because they played very disciplined basketball and slowed games down to their pace. They would never in a million years try to get into a run and gun shootout with a team that was that much bigger, more athletic, and deeper with them. A good high school coach would know better than that.
Roster management: not signing an experienced point guard last spring was strike one. Wasting recruiting time and effort trying to convince Welage to come back for his senior year instead of looking for an experienced point guard was strike two. Playing Norris over Callaghan is strike 3. Redshirting 2 of our freshmen in this era of unlimited transfers and NIL money should be a fireable offense for wasting athletic department money developing a kid that most likely won’t finish his career here.
To say the least, I’m completely underwhelmed by Sargent so far.
