1) Marcus Nellems (6-4, SG) Fort Wayne, IN. He averaged 8.1 points, 2.8 rebonds, and 2.3 assists as a sophomore at Marshalltown CC. RivalHoops: 1 star recruit.
2) Peter Campbell (6-7, PF) Yorktown, IN. He averaged 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds as a freshman at IPFW. He will sit out the 05/06 season after transferring from IPFW.

1) JaNathan Bullock (6-5, SF) Flint, MI. He averaged 17.3 points and 10.1 rebounds as a junior. ScoutHoops: 2 star recruit.
2) Terry Walker (6-8, PF) Grand Rapids, MI. He averaged 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks as a senior. He is ranked the 3rd best PF in Michigan by Prepspotlight. RivalHoops: 1 star recruit.
3) Ije Nwanko (6-7, PF) Detroit, MI. He averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds at Purdue. As a high school senior he averaged 18.5 points, 12 rebounds, and 5.3 blocks. He was 1st team All-State as a senior. He is sitting out the 04/05 season after transferring from Purdue.
4) Carlos English (5-9, PG) Detroit, MI. He averaged 8.6 points, 6.2 assists, and 2.7 steals as a sophomore at Mott CC. As a high school senior he averaged 15.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. He was 1st team All-State as a senior. RivalHoops: 1 star recruit.

3) Paige Paulsen (6-7, PF) Custer, SD. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.7 rebounds as a sophomore at Northern Illinois University. As a high school senior he averaged 24.5 points and 11.0 rebounds. He was a three-time 1st team All-State selection and South Dakota's Mr. Basketball as a senior. He will sit out the 05/06 season after transferring from NIU.
4) Tyrone Young (6-4, SG) He averaged 19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3 assists as a sophomore at Vincennes CC. As a high school senior he averaged 25.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. 5) Byron Davis (6-2, PG) Detroit, MI. He averaged 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists as a sophomore at New Mexico State. As a high school senior he averaged 19.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He was 1st team All-State as a senior. He is sitting out the 05/06 season after transferring from New Mexico State.

Do you know who else is recruiting Chris Cornelius? What does he weight?

I would also be interesting in knowing more about Jerome Tillman. I wonder if he is high on PB's recruiting list? Who else is recruiting Tillman?

Cornelius is 6-7, 200 lbs. He has made official visits to Rhode Island, Southern Illinois, UWM, Illinois St, and Boston U. He is scheduled to visit WSU on 11/13.

I doubt Tillman is a top priority for us. He is an undersized post player and we already have several guys that fit that category that are more highly skilled. I don't think anyone has offered him a scholarship yet.

I have heard that WSU is recruiting BJ Walker. He is a 6-9, 245lb center from Cincinnati, OH. He signed with Buffalo out of high school, but left after injuring his back his freshmen year. He received a medical redshirt for that season and played at Garden City CC last year. He averaged 10.2 points and 6 rebounds as a redshirt freshman.

I hear we are also recruiting Walt Waters. He is a 6-10, 260 lb Center who played last year at CSU. He transfered to Schoolcraft CC this year. As a freshman at CSU he only played in 13 games due to injuries and averaged 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds. As a high school senior he was a consensus top 100 recruit. He was All State 3 years in a row in Michigan and averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks a game.

Ok BigD, you're getting my juices flowing. It is great to see the names of big men PB and his staff are recruiting. Both Walker, 245 lbs and Waters, 260 lbs would bring size to the post position. When you throw in Craft that is three known post players that we are recruiting. If we can land even one of them it would be awesome.

With only to scholarship left to give landing a post player has to be a priority.

coach said today at the horizon league luncheon that they would like to add one post player and one perimeter player with our last two scholarships. i was a little surprised. i thought they would like two post players. also, the bad news is the hawaii trip is off. there may be something to the caribbean instead. i hope to see everyone wed night. I suspect that coach B's thinking is that he currently has two freshman interior players in Plieman and Munroe and he doesn't want to be thin at the guard spot in a couple of years.

It did occur to me that since he plans on giving one of the two remaining scholarships to a guard they may not be leaning towards redshirting Mr. Graham.

I also didn't realize that Scotty Wilson was sitting out this year and that he has three years of eligibility left.

I wonder if PB would turn down a big man if two wanted to come? I know I'm in a dream world but what if, say, Craft and Waters wanted to come, is their any way PB only takes one. I would be shocked if he turned one down so that he could sign a guard. After all, their are a lot more guards available then big men.

I hope we sign just one post player.

I think we are going to redshirt Graham regardless to who we sign this year. It sounds like the coaches want to balance out the classes a little better and it helps to redshirt Graham. If we use both scholarships on incoming freshmen and we redshirt Graham, our class breakdown will look like this:
1 senior (Taylor)
4 juniors (Vova, Drew, Boyd, Wood)
5 Sophs (Jordan, Munroe, Spencer, Shine, Wilson)
3 freshmen (Graham, +2)

If we don't redshirt Graham this year we are going to have 6 sophs next year. I don't think the coaches want to have to worry about replacing 10 out of 13 scholarship players over a 2 year period. Having to replace 9 is going to be tough enough.

Good point BigD! It makes sense as far as balancing out the classes. For a mid major, having fifth year seniors can be a huge benefit down the road.

As Papa reported in another post, Kenny Hayes is interested in WSU. He is a 6-0, PG from Northmont high school. He averaged 14 points and 5.8 assists last year. He shot 38% from the 3pt line and 82% from the free throw line. Prepspotlight Ohio ranking: 15. Hoopscoop National Ranking: 587.
