Going after players from one of the worst D1 programs in 2023-2024 is certainly a strategy.

I feel for the coaching staff. I think we all know what it feels like when you have a project and you keep seeming to wall after wall. They know how high pressure this offseason is. They know we need quality players or we will be an island of misfit toys. I don't envy them at all but they need to keep pushing. A quality pg would play huge minutes here. Seems pretty bad when one of our insiders thought we'd have a lock but they chose to go somewhere else. What is the most we can offer in NIL? is that whats slowly us down? Milwaukee seems like they are putting together a solid team while we can't get any momentum.

It's pretty exhausting to be a wsu fan. With NIL and our lack of success in the portal I'm afraid it's going to get more and more exhausting. Even if our freshmen are great, we are going to lose them the following year to bigger programs. Let's just be real about that. I'm not sure how to navigate the portal but damn this is brutal. The portal might still be opened but at some point it will just be d2 players that should only be walk ons. Guess there is still time but it's not looking good.

Is anyone heavily leaning to us? I'm concern there hasn't been any commitments. What is the plan to replace the offensive production of Calvin, Holden and Braun? Are we going to go into the season with Norris as the most experienced point guard? I like Clint and think long term it will be good. Not getting a good feeling with the lack of news to fill large holes.

Wait, what? Did they give him a scholarship?

I was going to give him comment of the year. Still a lot of time left but that was gold. He has a great point might have happened if Nagy was here. Or play very little minutes. I hope our current coaches can land some of these impressive transfers. It feels like last year when we had some intriguing transfers on our list, but we missed out on all of them.

Happy WSU is keeping the other two recruits but was hoping Jaheem was going to be a Raider. Maybe he will join WSU after his redshirt season at SIU. Lol great comment

Sargent and Bere are close and like this area. Once we win the Horizon 2 out of next 3 years with an upset in the NCAA tournament, Bere will follow Sargent to the next spot. Or we promote Bere. I think it's a good sign that Sargent has so much buy in from the remaining players and coaches. You really don't see any rosters stay remotely consistent with a new head coach. I'm certainly more optimistic for next season then I was at the end of the season. Maybe Nagy was holding them back. As great as it is to have Cole back, the move is a head scratcher. It's a pretty huge jump with little coaching/recruiting experience. It's a great investment though, he could be great long term.

As of now, Tae Gibbs is only staff member moving with Nagy to SIU. Most likely that's it. Bere is returning.

Can Soin start donating the majority of his money to basketball and stop donating towards hospitals and education?

This feels like a fever dream. Some SUI fans want our entire roster. Seems like a great fan base but I don't get it. We were not good and we had a very talented team. According to RPI ratings, MVC finished 9 out of 33 conferences. The HL was 22. Not sure how this roster would do in the MVC. Maybe Nagy will be a different coach there but I doubt it. He seemed to let his assistants do most of the coaching in game. I'm not sure what that means for us since we looked like a poorly managed team at times. And we almost never had a good play after a timeout lol. I also saw where someone said Brown, Woods and Carter played a significant portion of minutes. Guess we are all the same at the end of the day. No one really knows anything and we all have different opinions! Congrats to Sargent. Hopefully he can take what Nagy taught him and apply a more modern style in regards to managing the roster.

It looks like Drey, Alex H, Woods, Norris, and Noel, all liked the post on Twitter. Webber seems like the only person who hasn't acknowledged it yet. Davis even created an account to like it. Webber shared the story on his Instagram account for what it’s worth That sounds good. It would be unheard of to keep everyone from now to November with a coaching change! Maybe Clint can do it.

Looks like Alex is staying with his commitment to Wright State. Nice! Do we know who Clint recruited?

That is so surprising to me. I know little about SUI other then what I read in their message board. It doesn't sound like an upgrade and seems really odd to move to a school that has had less success then us, and also in a tougher conference. Sucks we are probably going to lose this freshmen class but we needed a change. Hopefully they do an actual search and then make a decision. Again, I find it hard that Cooley wouldn't have been informed while he was here. If it is Clint, maybe he does have more modern philosophies but was held back by his boss. We will see. Also why can't Grant be a part of the hiring process? He's still employed with us and at a minimum we should hire him as a consultant to get us over this mess.
