The article doesn't sound too promising for WSU with Wragge.

Brandyn Curry previously listed Harvard and William & Mary as his top 2 and I get the impression that we are right in that mix since we are visit #1. Stanford is the top basketball school on his list, but I don't see him ending up at Stanford. He is from the East coast. I don't see him going to the other side of the country to play ball. He is a very smart kid and he has talked about going to the Ivy league in some of his interviews. That is the only thing that worries me. When it comes to academics, Wright State is a good school, but we aren't anywhere near any of his other top 4. I think we are a much better basketball program than Harvard, William & Mary, or Pennsylvania, so I really see his decision coming down to basketball vs academics. His visits are as followed:
Wright State 09/06/2008 Harvard 09/20/2008 William & Mary 09/27/2008 Stanford 10/04/2008 Pennsylvania 10/18/2008
My hope is that we blow him away next week on his visit and get him to commit before he takes any of his other visits. I think that is our best chance to sign him.

Fall classes start the Monday after Curry's official visit. Students should be on campus and moving in the weekend of his visit. I hope they make a good impression on him.

Just saw that Miami received a commitment from Mark Anderson. That's the third player they beat us out for this year.

Just saw that Miami received a commitment from Mark Anderson. That's the third player they beat us out for this year. That's not true. They only won recruiting battles for Orlando Allen and Allen Roberts. We never offered Anderson a scholarship.

What kind of chance does Wright State have with Bill Edwards Jr now that Miami has finished out their recruiting class?

I think our only chance if landing him is if he wants to stay local because we are his only option left. UD and Miami offered him, but both are out of scholarships now. UC and X have recruited him, but neither have offered him. He has tons of great offers, but we are his last local option.

What kind of chance does Wright State have with Bill Edwards Jr now that Miami has finished out their recruiting class? Right now, Brandyn Curry should be our top priority. He is going to be on campus for his official visit this weekend. I hope things go extremely well and we can get a commitment from him in the near future. Point guard is our coaching staff's number one priority. We lose Graham after this season and we want to bring in a point guard who can be a difference maker. Curry can be that type of player for us. Bill Edwards Jr knows were he stands with us. He's had WSU coaches and fans trying to get him to come to WSU ever since he first laced up sneakers. He has been a heavy Miami lean for quite some time and I was shocked he didn't follow his cousins lead and commit to Miami last week. It looks like he missed his chance to be a Redhawk. He needs to decide if he wants to stay local and follow in his father's footsteps or go away to school. He already missed his chance at Miami because he waited too long. I hope he doesn't do the same thing here. We have offered scholarships to 4 other forwards and we only have one opening. We aren't going to hold a scholarship for him if one of the others decides to commit to WSU.

What about D.J. Cooper, JaRob McCallum, and James Kinney? Unless something changes, I don't see any of them ending up at WSU. They all have narrowed their lists and WSU wasn't in their top 3.

Any word on how Brandyn Curry's visit went?

Why do you suppose that we haven't received another commitment? Could the recruits be fearful that Coach Brownell won't be there? I am especially confused why someone would choose UWGB over WSU.
