If you pay attention to our lineups and roster you will see that Brownell usually brings in guys that play multiple positions. Duggins, Tabler, Graham, Gardner, Evans, and Grote have all been on the court together with any and all of them playing the 1, 2, or 3. Those positions are pretty interchangeable in our system. We were recruiting Brandenburg pretty hard. He would have been a 1 or 2 in our system just like Cartharn. You can label them anything you want, but if you look on our official roster we only label players as guards or forwards. We don't even use the term center because in our offense the 4 and 5 are interchangeable. Knowing all of that, I still hope we bring in a more true pg type guard. Ryan Bass or the Thomas kid out of Ky fit that mold.

Are we still recruiting Bass? I haven't found an update on him for quite a while. I honestly don't know if WSU is still recruiting him, but I can say that many colleges stopped recruiting him in the middle of the summer. He burned a lot of bridges when he made several public statements to recruiting sites and college coaches about how much he wanted to go to Miami. The problem for him is Miami isn't going to offer him a scholarship. He was a plan B recruit for them. Their primary PG recruit was Quinten Rollins and he committed to Miami. I like Bass and would still like to see him in the green and gold, but I don't know if WSU was one of the schools that moved on to other recruits after Bass' comments.
