I assume X is a buy game. Question: Now that the team down the road has gotten their act back together, with the last several years compiling a profile similar to X, would we accept a buy game from them?

mrose, not that I'd have a say but I'm guessing not. Xavier is in the Big East. If a buy game in basketball was the same as a football payout then I might get more excited about such things but, you ought to do better with home contests. I like seeing Xavier on the schedule though.

Xavier is a good pickup and it is good that it is close. Tickets should be easy to get.

I think XU is a buy game...we're not doing a 2for1 like we did with UC.
Just to put in perspective, according to 24/7 sports we are getting $90k from the UK buy game. Between them and XU, the program should benefit nicely.

What?? Only $45K from the UK buy game? If that's all we got and accepted then somebody got terribly snookered.
D I Buy games against Top 25 Div. I opponents typically have payouts of $80K +/- $5-10k.

Xavier and UK are both buy games and we are getting a heck of a lot more than 45K for each game.

Sorry, I mistranslated what I read on 24/7 sports...The wording sucked. The UK article made it sound like they were paying Illinois State and Wright State a combined 90k (which seemed really crappy) and not 90k each.

I've always been in favor of us going to nearby, big name schools, like KY, OSU, UC, MSU, UI, etc. Those are nice roadtrips for our fans, especially if played on a Saturday, and it gives us a nice paycheck. But as the post above said, I'm anxious to see who we will have at home in order to build our receipts at the gate. Play good teams, home and away, and the gate will come our way.

Looks like the addition of Northern Kentucky will be for the upcoming season. That being said that will add two league games and in theory take away two non league games. Hopefully there will be a nice alumni trip to NKU every year. Facilities look pretty nice. www.nkunorse.com/sports/2015/3/24/Facilities_BOKC.aspx?id=218

Well I know we will be at Rupp Arena to watch the game. Friends and I will look like sea weed in an ocean of blue. Since coach Cal will have a bunch of new recruits this could be the best chance we will get to beat the Wildcats. Did I just say that. LOL.

That's a decent setup. 3 other programs from other decent mid major conferences. If it is truly a round-robin, then there's 3 decent matchups for us. Hopefully this MTE doesn't cut into our normal allotment of D1 OOC home games. Guess we will wait and see.

I'm ok with this tournament, but not excited---I think it gives us a good chance to get a few wins and get the guys experience playing on consecutive days. South Dakota and NIU were around.500 last year, CSU Northridge was bad.
