I've watched that play ten times and he was so smooth it was almost like Donlon drew it up for him. I'm pretty sure the coaches drew the play up with a last resort rebound by Alstork or Minnis. Either Yoho or Karena was going to take the shot from the right side of the foul line/court, as long as the shot gets over the rim, and a big if "doesn't go hard off the back rim", it was either going to go in, or if not bounce off to the left side somewhere because of the angle of the shot taken. The coaches had our two tallest athletic guards set up on that side, so they could go up and attempt a tip in if the shot was missed, and Minnis made the play. But that play doesn't happen without the 2 clutch 3s prior to that. I also think Minnis's trey was so far off high that he called "glass" on that one. I didn't hear any post game comments, I'm still wondering if anybody heard whether he meant to bank that in, or if the basketball gods wanted Valpo to lose.

This is actually pretty tame for a fan base who just lost their home winning streak to a team coming off their worst possible loss of the year. The Valpo board has a pretty good overall rapport with each other and are fairly self aware. Kind of impressed by that, actually. As for that final play, Minnis stayed as far in the corner as he could to draw his man out. When the shot went up and everyone raced to the boards, his guy spotted Alstork in the lane and decided to box him out. If that ball had bounced any other direction, it would have been Valpo's ball. Minnis did one hell of a job getting to the open spot and timing it perfectly. I've watched that play ten times and he was so smooth it was almost like Donlon drew it up for him. Meh, they give us no credit for the most part; act like we're some "bad team." We beat them twice and they can't swallow their medicine and just accept that we're actually a lot better this season than people expected (since HL play has begun, we've been very formidable). I will say a few of their fans did say we're a good/dangerous team, but those people were in the minority. Most of them acted like they just got swept by Northern Kentucky or something. Nah, we've been one of the best teams in the HL for years -- some down years mixed in. But overall, we've proven we're consistently one of the upper-tier teams in the HL. It's not even up for debate. We've been in the HL Championship Game 4 times in the last 9 years. We only won one of those games (Butler in '07), but the point is we are usually right in the thick of the race. I did find it funny that their fans think we're "in their head." One guy even said, "I hope we don't see them on a neutral court in the HL Tourney, not sure we can beat them." Haha. Yep, we're definitely in their heads if they're already doubting whether they can beat us on a neutral court. Read more: wrightstate.proboards.com/thread/2932/game-27-valparaiso?page=3#ixzz40AthrVTa

Just to throw something out there for thought. If it weren't for the technical foul on the coach, the tip in would have been for the tie.

If we would have made another free throw we would not have had have Biggies tip in.
