I don't remember and I'm not wasting the time to look it up. We finished with more than 20 wins and a sub 100 RPI with a better SOS when the HL was still considered a top mid-major several times in the Brownell era. We never got close to an NIT invite. We won't this year either.

three thoughts. first, fan, i think the first four is two match ups with the four lowest seeded teams and two matchups with the four lowest rated at large invites.
second, bbj, i think nagy's coaching job is nothing short of miraculous. he has no true point guard and no true div i post player. now if i were listing positions in order of importance those two would be 1 and 2. yet he is still having a solid season. give him a couple of full recruiting seasons and we may start seeing this program develop into the quality midmajor you and I have always thought it should be.
third, big d, if our leadership was going to increase season ticket sales this season to pay for our new coaches they are idiots. I would have been shocked if our season ticket sales went up this year. I really expected they might drop off a little due to the hubbub at the end of last season. reason for optimism is how attendance has ticked up the last part of the season. I hope we finish strong and the valpo game packs in a good crowd. many of those folks trying us and liking us this year may look at season tickets next year. i do think it is tough competing for fans against 8th grade girls hoops. lol.

Keith, I didn't word that well. They expected to increase attendance throughout the season to offset the extra money we are paying Nagy. They didn't expect to raise season ticket sales enough to do that alone, although I think they hope to see season ticket sales increase in the future as we become more successful.

A lot of supporters forget that we are a smaller market area than Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit and the like but we lead in attendance per game than anyone else in the conference.
I sense some optimism in the seats as the offensive style play is enjoyed by more younger fans. I have not heard near as much negativity in the seats unless it is for players that continually drive the lane in 4 on 1 instances. It's nice to see younger faces showing up at the games. They come to watch slam dunks and get up and down the court play. That alone attracts better players to play and fans to watch basketball at the Nutter Center. Scheduling and winning games ultimately helps that out.

and, big d, i think that is what we will see. the combination of a much more watchable style of play and improved results will bring fans to the nutter. if we win Tuesday night we may see the biggest crowd of the season for the valpo game.
I do hope in conjunction with all this that we see an effort to strengthen our non con schedule.

My opinion, we are now seeing A Raider team that is sparking interest by fans. The winning is great. The style of play makes the wins more exciting and the loses not as demoralizing. I am expecting an increase in season ticket holders next season and each season after. We are going in the right direction. Keith, I am sure with the improvements you mentioned we will see an improved OOC schedule. The higher ranked teams want to play teams that will bring a more exciting game to their place.
