from the preview: "N’Gai Evans received seven stitches above his right eye following a collision in practice on Tuesday" I can only speculate but we must run one of the toughest practices in the country. Our guys always get banged up more in practice then they do in games. Good to be prepared for battle though!

For the record, I actually consider Schlemer a pretty good supporter of Wright State athletics. I don’t want anyone to think he makes a habit of bashing the WSU program or something based on the title of this thread. Coach Donlon calls in frequently and the two of them have a pretty good rapport. He’s said repeatedly that Wright State has the right man leading the program right now – he think Donlon is a superstar in the making. (I concur) . His show is local sports talk but whenever I listen I usually hear much more about Wright State than I do UD. I’m guessing our crowds will come up as a point of conversation sometime this week.

2007 will come to mind quickly for everyone when we almost blew our chance to host the tourny

I'm hoping for some AC/DC 'Back in Black' tonight as the team is introduced! Or at least some sort of change to the music to make it feel like a special event...

Coach Donlon was on WONE this afternoon and said there were already 1,500 student tickets out for the Valpo game tomorrow. I'm expecting a heck of a crowd - make sure you wear black in case the 5,000 free shirts are gone by the time you get there!

I will say that WSU has done a pretty decent job getting us hyped around campus for this game. I've talked to some fellow students who have never been to a game before, but are coming on Friday. Good stuff Good news. We need to use this black out promotion to draw a good crowd and then put a good product on the floor Friday night to get people interested and wanting to come back. Having Butler in house for the next game should help bring those fans back on Sunday as well. Could be a big weekend towards rebuilding our fan base /attendance for the rest of the year.

No Butler or UIC this year? I'm guessing Butler thinks they have nothing to gain by playing but why isn't UIC participating?

Man we have a lot of fans in Chicago. The Loyola-Wright fan ratio is about 3-to-1, which is a bit odd for a regular season game two states away. Raiders travel well!

Let me also just add that Vaughn Duggins is a 1st team all Horizon League player and if he keeps playing at the level he is now and doesn't get rewarded with that title at the end of the year it will be a travesty. He hit some TOUGH shots down the stretch that were well-guarded.

I can't believe how much time UIC took getting a shot on the possession they started with around 50 seconds to go. I think they ran the clock all the way down to 25 seconds or so when they were down 6 points. Credit our defense some too I'm sure but they made it easier on us by not having any real sense of urgency. If that was us I would have been livid that we weren't trying to lengthen the game.
Great road win in the conference and it would be huge if we could get a Chicago sweep on Saturday with two tough home games coming up. You can do it Raiders!

How many times this year would you estimate Tabler has been called for traveling for trying to dribble drive before actually putting the ball on the floor to dribble?

I do think the normal season ticket holder resents it when we have give aways to boost our numbers for a game. Do they get a refund? Not to hijack on just this one point, but personally I don't mind paying full price for season tickets and then having the Raider represent night when everyone gets in free. I just consider it a small donation to the Athletic Department. Once I write that check at the start of the year its a sunk cost anyway. That being said though, I can see your point and I'm sure it annoys a number of people. I would also pay for HLN if I knew the money was going to go to help the league and its members - especially when others leagues/schools are making money off their broadcasts. I can't imagine the HLN broadcasts do anything near what the ESPN broadcasts do for us in terms of exposure and being watched by recruits anyway.

If we could get more students to move down to the very front section I think that would really help the atmosphere...help the students be more involved and have a good time and come back again. There's usually a decent number of students at games but they are so spread out and sit all the way up near the top of that section. I'd love for someone to think of a way to get them to come down and get involved with the chants and whatnot that our core few students do every game.

Exactly. Bob Grant should fire the bomber clowns and hire TBRF and a few of his friends to pick out some CURRENT music to play through the PA and let those students shoot t-shirts into the crowd at timeouts. If we are paying someone to run these timeouts for entertainment purposes, I suggest we hire some attractive ladies. If I have to watch a lame TO game, I would rather watch a good looking lady running it that some loud mouth kid that yells into the mic. Another suggestion is to pay the Emerald Jazz's dance coach to coordinate TO entertainment. She at least picks current music for the Jazz to dance to. I'm sure she could pick out some current music to be played on the PA system when the band isn't playing. You could fulfill both of those suggestions by hiring the Jazz's dance coach actually...
