I think I remember either Alex or Kendall saying one of the reasons they chose WSU was for the chance to play against Butler twice per year.

FWIW, Coach Donlon was on Sports Talk 980 this afternoon and said that while you never really know for sure - he doesn't expect anyone else to be leaving the program this year.
Not that we thought anyone else would but its nice to have some sort of confirmation...

Hopefully both of these young men find the right situation for themselves quickly and are able to resume their basketball careers and studies in the right situation. I'm sure they'll both do well for themselves and I wish them nothing but the best.

From reading everyone's posts, are we forgetting about Julius and Darian? I know everyone is talking about them, but i see them having a huge impact on this team come next year. I agree. If Mays had signed with WSU straight out of HS in Indiana instead of going to NC State first I don't think anyone would be talking about us not having a go-to scorer next year that could get us a bucket when we need it. They would have seen his talents already. I don't know that Mays is going to be the lock down defender that Vaughn was (not many can be) but I think he could be really special on the offensive end in our system.

Definitely a positive for the Horizon League to not lose coaches to other mid-major programs/conferences. Ideally, our coaches should only be bolting for BCS level jobs.

With 1,978 career points, Norris Cole ends his career 10th in Horizon League history. Passed Anthony Bonner (SLU) today.

You know, its possible to think our program is better than mediocre AND STILL believe we can do better than we have been and strive for more. People seem to think everyone who is saying we are better than mediocre is content to stay at whatever level that is. I don't think anyone would say that.
We're going to have a hell of a time growing our fan base though when our own fans spend all their time trying to hold down people's perceptions of our program though. So much for having a "borderline arrogance about our University" like coach Donlon said WSU folks needed to have. Sheesh.

I’d rather see us use that money to do something like take the men’s team overseas for one of those tours where they get to play a few European pro teams. I’m not sure what the cost runs but that seems like it would be a better use of the money than the CBI. Especially to do it next season when we’ll have a bunch of new kids – none of whom are used to being the “go-to guy” on our team. Something like that could really help our team come together and gel quickly next season. That would actually be a good investment because it could help us actually get to a REAL tournament next season.

I hope the UC game at home isn't one of our very first games of the year. It's going to take us a few games to come together as a team without this year's seniors.
I'd take a couple home/home games starting on the road against a good mid-major or another 2 for 1 against a BCS school to start on the road. I'd love to bring a team like UC into the Nutter Center every single season.

Isn't there already a second box office to buy tickets in the back of the Nutter Center? Everytime I come in the back way there is a Nutter Center employee directing people that have tickets to the left line and people that don't have tickets to the right line.
