The game tonight is listed as tape delayed at 11:30 on ESPNU. Does anyone know if it can be watched live anywhere online?

How is Butler and Loyola getting offers and Wright State not? Statements like this make our fan base look delusional. Wright State has absolutely nothing going for it in regards to conference expansion compared to Butler or Loyola. Butler has had tremendous basketball success. They have made 12 trips to the NCAA tournament. They have made it to the championship game twice. Overall they have won 19 NCAA tournament games. That alone would have gotten them invited to a better conference. They also have the benefit of being an elite academic school in a major media market. Loyola has been down as a basketball program for quite some time, but they still have solid NCAA tournament credentials. They have made 5 appearances in the NCAA tournament. They have made it to 2 final fours and have 1 National Championship. Overall, they have won 9 NCAA tournament games. They also have the benefit of being an elite academic school in a major media market. Wright State has 2 NCAA tournament appearances and we got our asses kicked in both games. We are very very far from being considered an elite academic institution and we are the second tier school in our own city, which is a much much smaller media market than either Indianapolis or Chicago.

So facts and actually looking at opponents, who they've beaten, etc. is excuses? You either win games or you lose games. All of your "facts" are just excuses to why Oakland is losing. No one cares why they are losing. No one cares why we have lost so many games already this year. We are missing our back up center and have several players hurt. All people look at are wins and losses. They don't want excuses. Oakland is 0-7. The HL is still looking for it's 10th (and hopefully 11th and 12th members). It is imperative that we all do well in our OOC schedule so that we can be a high rated conference so that we can attract the best schools available. Oakland is not pulling their weight. Not by a long shot.

Still think the jury is out. They've lost to three teams that at the time were ranked in the top 25, and also lost to a quality St. Francis team by six...a team that lost by 6 to Syracuse, and beat Miami Fl earlier in the year. Other losses were to a quality Louisiana Lafayette team whose only two losses were to Arkansas at Arkansas(played them tough) and at Baylor. Agree that Western Michigan is a bad loss. Given that schedule, what were our record be, given how we were playing? Instead of 0-7, I think our team would probably only be 2-5 or at best 3-4. That is all just a bunch of excuses. You don't put together a schedule you can't be competitive against. This isn't just hurting them. It hurts the whole HL.

if there were 3200 people in the Nutt last nite, I'll eat my hat. 2,000 tops, probably closer to 1750. Announced attendance is always the number of tickets sold, not the number of fans actually at the arena.

Anyone else starting to have buyers remorse over the addition of Oakland to the HL. Their 0-5 record so far isn't doing a damn thing for the conference. 0-7 now.

The HL is 20-29 vs. D1 competition this year.

Good luck Coach Cooper. Thanks for what you have done for Wright State.

Everyone should be a lot happier with Oakland if they just realize Butler is not walking through that door. I don't think anyone expects us to bring in one team that will replace Butler. I know I have just been hoping for a few additions that can help elevate the conference. Oakland was a good start.

I am going to be pretty disappointed if all we add is Oakland. I am actually pretty happy with the addition of Oakland but we could have made that move last summer. I hope we are announcing 2 additions next month.

You are letting reality get in your way. it is all about perceived value. I think those 2 statements show the error in your thinking. Fans do not decide conference expansions. University presidents and conference commissioners make those decisions based on reality and real value. The MVC added Loyola for their location, their finances, and their facilities. Period. It had nothing to do with perceived value. It was all based on what they offered the conference. Valpo was passed over because they are not in a good location (limited potential to increase their fan base because they are not in a well populated area), they have poor facilities and no finances to improve them. Without the potential to increase their fan base, they do not have much potential to improve those facilities anytime soon. That is the reality of their situation. That is why they are still in the HL while Loyola is in the MVC even though Valpo has all of that perceived value you keep trying to push.

First, take a real look at what Valpo has done in the last decade and more importantly since they joined the HL. In the last decade they have 1 NCAA appearance. Guess what, so do we. They have an overall record of 183-141 (including 4 years in the Summit League). We have a record of 181-135 in that time span. Since they joined the HL they are 117-85 overall. We are 116-81 in that span. We both finished 63-43 in the HL in that time span. So the 2 biggest thing separating us is they have some name recognition from a miracle shot they took in the NCAA tournament 15 years ago and we have state of the art facilitis for a mid-major conference.
Second, I want people at Wright State that achieve success, not talk about it. Ed Schilling talked a big game while he was at WSU. He never achieved anything. Donlon has done more in his 3 years here than Ed did in his entire tenure here and Donlon has us poised to win the HL next year and get us back into the dance. I don't need Donlon to talk a good game. He is doing it on the court.

Business 101 also teaches about budgets. WSU is running an athletic dept. without a budget? No way. Bob Grant should have a pretty good handle on next years budget by now even though the schedule isn't complete. If you don't know what hotel rooms or airfare is going to cost use a damn baseline--that's what business people in the real world do---not wait until their costs are known to the exact penny before they proceed with their business. There are reasons almost every D1 athletic department across the country waits to sell tickets until the summer. You may not like those reasons. You may not understand those reasons, but they must have legit reasons to wait until the summer. You act like they are doing it just to piss you off or because they are too stupid to know what is in their best interest. Sorry, I don't buy it. I trust the people that are employed at hundreds of athletic departments across the country that do this for a living know a tad bit more than you do.

+1 fastbreak. I'm sick and tired of reading posts from so called WSU fans bitching about our players.
