Just listened to Bluejay Banter, a weekly sports radio show in Omaha. Their President was on, and he said that he had discussions with Atlantic 10 member officials: "If you ever expand, think of Creighton." Then he went on to say that he had spoken with Jesuit university officials and said "If you guys implode, meaning the Big East, I want to make sure that if things change, Creighton would be at the table in discussions." Sounds pretty clear cut and dry that he has reached out to the A10 and Big East - if they're expanding, he wants in. This radio show aired April 30th. bluejaybanter.podomatic.com/

Per Jeff Goodman (@goodmancbs):
Wright State guard Julius Mays is transferring and will graduate in June. Averaged 14.1 points this past season.
Yikes.

In the conference call, Lecrone said the rule was a school could veto within 25 miles. Detroit is 20 miles from Oakland. He then said that veto could be overwritten if the remaining members voted unanimously for the team.
In the past, Detroit called on bros Loyola and Butler to help them out. If Detroit still wants no part of Oakland and Loyola still defends them, then Oakland is out.

Well said by Keith.
Obviously we're down to 5 baseball schools. Does Wright State consider moving to the MVC?

That makes it sound like the program is staying in the Horizon. It just means it's not happening today and likely not tomorrow.

Not quite sure which topic this would fit under, but apparently we have a new WSU Sports beat writer. His name is David Jablonski and you can follow him on twitter @davidjabs7 Tweet from @bobgrantad: "Follow this guy! @davidjabs7 our new Dayton Daily News beat writer - welcome Dave! #gladtohaveya" Jablonski has some big shoes to fill. Kyle was the best beat reporter we have had in years. He wrote a ton of articles/blogs on WSU athletics and you could tell he was a fan and not just someone forced to cover WSU like our previous few beat reporters. Good luck Kyle with your new job at the paper and welcome Mr. Jablonski. Agreed. Kyle Nagel was such a good writer for WSU that he was a daily read for me in Milwaukee.

I was following that bad boy on twitter. Just an offensive beast of a game.
My boys squandered pretty great pitching by Cale Tassi, almost getting no-hit by Valpo yesterday. Crappy weekend, 5th place. I know it's early, but these races have been really close the last few years.
Does anyone at Wright State go to baseball games? Up here we pretty much get parents and girlfriends.

I remember this as a fun atmosphere for the students who attended last year. There seems to be a natural rivalry between WSU and CSU students, more specifically with our residential students. We've already had around 500 individual students who have attended at least 1 game this year, and I think we'll see some really good student turnouts this year, starting with this game. As far as the game is concerned i really hope our big men get hit in the mouth a few times and really get challenged. We need all the adversity we can get at this point in my opinion to prepare us for our schedule, especially at the 4's and 5's You just want to win handily in exhibition games. If that happens, take all the challenges you can - it's a freebie. In 06-07, our worst year in over a decade, the Panthers brought in UW-Parkside, a school from 25 miles down the road and the only D-II UW school. They beat us with something like 1,000 students at the game, and they never came back that season.

It's the same reason I picked Milwaukee for first in Rush The Court. I believe any of the top four teams could win the conference, but I picked my Panthers because I've seen them practice and I know what we're getting from incoming players.
Wright State is filled with a lot of unknowns. When your best player returning scored four points per game last season, it leaves a lot of people to wonder.
Serious bulletin board material. Billy Donlon sounds like a smart guy in post-game pressers, and a smart guy will use this as motivation.
