That 3 by GB is on Vaughn!!!! Their is NO WAY Green Bay should have been allowed to even get a shot at the end. What a terrible time for a traveling call on Vaughn. That play might end up costing us the game. Unfortunately it ended up costing up this game. What a tough loss............... That didn't cost us the game any more than any other play of the game. If Grote makes the gimme 4 footer at the end, we win. If we make all of our FT's, we win. If we get the last rebound instead of picking up the foul, we win.

I love my Raiders, but these games with lackluster effort for 1/2 the game are killing me.

Wright State HAS to land a quality JUCO post with our last scholarship. After we loose Cory Cooperwood this year we won't have a decent big man on our roster. That was very evident tonight vs Butler. Even though they don't have much of an inside game they owned us on the boards. Cooper Land is our only returning post player and he is a role player that doesn't play with enough consistency and doesn't rebound at all. That is it. Darkwa has been a bust. We are bringing in Cole Darling and AJ Pacher, but neither one is physically ready for this level of basketball. We need at least 1 quality post player for next year and in all honesty we need to find a way to bring in 2.
We are going to take a major step backwards if we cannot get this done.

Raiders Fall to Butler 77-65 Jan. 8, 2010 Wright State had four players in double digits and made a 10-5 run late in the game, but it wasn't enough to beat Butler as the Bulldogs held on for a 77-65 Horizon League victory in front of 9,674 at the Nutter Center. The Raiders kept the game tight in the opening minutes. After trailing by five Wright State was able to tie the game up at 7-7 when Duggins made a three-pointer at the 14:20 mark. Less than a minute later, Cooperwood made a layup to put the score at 9-7 to give Wright State their first and only lead of the game. Their time in front was short-lived as Butler's Shelvin Mack scored seven consecutive points to give Butler a 14-9 lead with 10:38 remaining in the half. Cooperwood and Todd Brown kept the game close for the next two minutes, and it was a pair of free throws from Brown that made it 17-16 Butler with 8:41 remaining to play in the half. After a Bulldog 12-0 run made it 31-17, N'Gai Evans got the ball rolling again for the Green and Gold with a three-pointer at the 3:52 mark followed by a pair of Cooperwood free-throws that made it 31-22 with 3:20 left to play in the half. Butler eventually led 37-26 at the break. Duggins continued his scoring drive for the Raiders as he came out and scored the first four points of the second half to put the score at 38-30. Less than two minutes later, Troy Tabler made a pair of free throws and Evans made a basket to keep the Raiders to within eight of the Bulldogs. Butler later went up 56-41 at the 11:48 mark, but then Wright State answered back with both Evans and Duggins making a three-pointer to pull Wright State to within 11. With 8:36 remaining in the half, Evans started a 12-5 scoring drive for the Raiders that consisted mainly of free-throws. Tabler, Scott Grote and Brown combined for seven points from the free-throw line to make it 65-59 with just 4:15 left to play. But the Bulldogs proved to be too much as they outscored the Raiders 12-6 the rest of the way. Wright State was led in scoring by Brown with 18 points while Cory Cooperwood had a career high five blocks to go along with his 15 points. Vaughn Duggins contributed with 13 while N'Gai Evans contributed with 10. The Raiders shot 40.9 percent from the field and made seven shots from behind the three-point arc. It wasn't enough to match Butler's 51.1 percent from the field and the Bulldogs were also 23-24 from the free-throw line. Mack paced Butler (11-4, 4-0 Horizon) with 21 points while Gordon Hayward had 20. "They got in a rhythm and started making shots," said Cooperwood. "As a team, we didn't come out and play like we should have." Wright State (10-6, 3-2 Horizon) hosts Valparaiso on Sunday at 4:00. www.wsuraiders.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/010810aaa.html

We've used Nike in the past and have tried to get them to make replica jerseys. They won't make them unless they are ordered in a very very large quantity. WSU was never able to find a store willing to front a large enough order to get it done.

I think we wear down UIC in second half. They do not sub alot and we constantly move on offense, their defense will tire and we will see a bunch of open shots midway through the second half. The million dollar question is can we start to make those open shots. Most of our missed 3s in the first half were not contested either.

Where has our offense gone the past 2 games? We forgot how to make 3s and how to shoot lay ups.

That's one of the funniest quotes I've read in a long, long time. I never knew Brian Fantana was a Raider basketball fan. ;D "60% of the time it works everytime." - Brian Fantana A minority of the time... meaning less than 50%... What's so hard about understanding that? And this was not a players girlfriend, this wasn't even a girl that anyone other than I know. I'm not attacking families. You don't know what you are talking about. I dont respect women? If there is a God I hope Chris Henry burns in h-e double hockey sticks for what he has done to women. A man should never raise his hand to a woman and I find it absurd that you jump to such a conclusion. And If some idiot player wants to beat me up (which they dont. Vytas Sulskis told me personally he thought the sign was hilarious and he got a kick out of it) then they can pay for my tuition. When the Youngstown State coaching staff is infront of Vytas Sulskis on the bench telling him not to pay attention to us and focus on the game, I feel like I've done my job to make the Nutter Center and difficult place to play in. But perhaps I should bake them all cookies next game. You are not the only student that holds up signs at games TBRF. The posters I have been referring to are the ones of player's girlfriends. I believe the first student that made one of those posters was JBalto From RRB a few years back.
