There is not a chance in hell Howard would be half the player he is at Butler if he were at Indiana or Purdue. He would get nowhere near the minutes he gets at Butler. He's to undersized and not athletic enough to play at that level. Valpo just got a 5 star recruit who couldn't cut it at UNLV. I guess he could play anywhere too?

Thats what I'm saying. Tabler came here instead of school like Penn State so he could play more than 3 minutes a game for his career. Why do you think Matt Howard is at Butler and not Indiana or Purdue. He wouldn't be able to matchup night in night out in the Big 10.

Do you really think that Troy Tabler would be playing for Penn State in the Big 10? He can't defend 1 player on any team we've played.

Wow South Florida actually won a Big East game. I thought for sure they were gonna do an 0 for the conference. Looks like Brownells old boss and mentor Wainwright(sp) is gonna be looking for a job after this year.

I think the thing thats alarming to me is that Brownell has continued to prove that he is not a great recruiter. He has won here and at UNCW with other guys players. If you look at UNCW's current roster there isn't 1 player left from the Brownell era. We have the best facilities and fan base in the league and were trying to out recruit players from Western Carolina, Eastern Illinois or players who don't even have any other D1 offers.

I don't get Loyola. Lose at home to D2 Rockhurst and then beat Georgia by 21

Overall I thought we played pretty well. Pros: 1. Student turnout 2. Vaughn and Todd looked like they didn't miss a beat 3. Cooperwood will fit in nicely. He looks like he has more of an offensive game than I thought he would
Surprises: 1. Gavin Horne showed more last night than all of last season 2. Scott Grote didn't show anything(1st game in a while so maybe not so surprising)
Cons: 1. Referees-called to many tick tack fouls leading to us shooting 30 free throws 2. Rebounding-we gave up numerous 2nd and even 3rd chances 3. Interior defending-numerous easy buckets allowed 4. Alumni and casual fan turnout-do we really think were gonna get 9,000 or more on Saturday?

1. I don't care if we win or lose. 2. Cory Cooperwood-2 time juco all-american, a lot of hype, how will he fit 3. Ronnie Thomas at 100%-can he contribute anything this year? 4. Cooper Land-did he develop any inside game or can he put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket? or will he continue to be a 6'9 shooting guard 4. Will Graham-did he work on his jumper? Must be able to drive to the hoop and finish strong(how many lay-ups did he miss last year?) 5. Vaughn and Todd-did they become leaders? Todd especially, he disappeared at times last year. Vaughn not as vocal as I would like

The fact of the matter is that this is the best Wright State basketball is gonna get. Competing year in year out for the league. If you can't get people to come to the games because its a 5-10 minute walk from the parking lot then your not gonna get them to come. It's that simple. If you bring older persons all you have to do is tell the parking staff you wanna drop him or her off close to the building. I mean come on, thats just common sense.

I always get a kick out of people complaining about parking at the Nutter Center. Its a damn 5 minute walk from the baseball field. Honestly, how many times do people have to walk that far? How about never. If you show up and 10 minutes before tip-off and can't figure out why you missed half of the first half that's a you problem. How about showing up early and trying to create an atmosphere for once.

I don't really care about their schedule but I think its ironic that UD fans bitch and moan about paying for home games against teams like Wofford but can't wait to spend the money on the play in game to watch teams of the same caliber or even worse.

All I'm saying is 6 straight 20 win seasons and the best you can get is TCU. Sure bigger paycheck and better facilities but TCU isn't going to go any further than Kent State will in the NCAA Tournament. At best TCU is 5th or 6th choice for Texas high school kids playing basketball. To me this is no different than Licklider last year. He took the 1st payday he could get at Iowa instead of staying at Butler where he had the whole team back and now he would be getting the Indiana job. Licklider will spend 3 more miserable years trying to rebuild Iowa before he's fired instead of winning at Butler and then getting a much better BCS job.

Kent State to TCU seems like a dumb move. Either the money was to good to pass down or that must be where home is.

Who would have thought it? Youngstown State can't recruit Ohio kids because they don't play other Ohio schools like Kent State or Toledo. I would have guessed its because the school doesn't support or commit to a winning program or the fact that Ohio high school kids know that they're the worst program in the state. Hopefully their football program will go Division 1 so we can get these clowns out of the league.
