Meanwhile...
The WSU ladies are kicking some butt with a 7-2 record. The losses come in the form of an 82-80 heartbreaker at Mizzou (currently ranked #16 in the AP) and a slipup against Providence a few weeks ago. They're currently riding high on a win over Belmont (#74 RPI).
Next up are three big games: at Georgia (9-1, 39 RPI), UWGB (who has a #4 RPI, but an AP of 21 because of course they do), and #86 UWM.
This is a cursory look at the state of affairs I made between train stops. Who has some insight into our big performers/injuries/intangibles?

The Lady Raiders are actually 9-2 overall. If you want to say their RPI is x based on D1 then say it ( and that would be based on 7-2 ). Next couple of games will be tough.
Start 2 seniors and 3 juniors. Chelsea Welch gets most of the attention but, the starting 5 basically average double digits. The bench needs to be a little more consistent but, they have all had their moments. Freshmen look really good.
Probably should have won by more than 10 last night but, very nice road win against a team that hadn't been beaten at home in a few seasons.

I was only using RealtimeRPI and the AP poll as quick references. Good to know we've got something going here! Go, ladies!

Thought I'd dredge this topic back up as the women have won 3 straight since an HL-opening loss to GB to improve to 12-4 and 3-1. They will play at NKU Saturday afternoon and open the home doubleheader Monday as they play YSU.
Welch continues to lead the way, averaging 21.9 PPG

Although I glance at the DDN headlines on-line, I don't click on to articles very often. Archdeacon did one on The G.O.A.T., Kim Demmings, that is worth reading if you pay any attention to the women's team.
They play IUPUI home tomorrow at 2 ( both teams are 6-1 in the league ).

Lady Raiders evidently hadn't recovered from home loss to IUPUI. Blew a 11 pt halftime lead...falling on the road to CSU in overtime, 71-70.

Wright State recruit, PG Angel Baker, led Indianapolis Pike (24-1) to a 50-45 victory over Ben Davis yesterday. The sectional championship places Pike in next weeks Decatur Central Regional. They play the (18-6) NPHS Dragons (New Pal), at 10 a.m. Saturday. Baker is ranked the 28th best PG by ESPN in the 2018 class.

Wright State recruit, Anisja Harris had a productive weekend. She led Gahanna Lincoln with 25 points in a rout of Grove City 86-27 on Friday night. She followed yesterday scoring 11 of her total 15 points in the 3rd quarter as Gahanna defeated Watterson 43-39. GLHS is now 13-8 (4-6).
