I suspect Davenport would have seen some decent minutes as a Freshman. Does this open the door for Winchester to reconsider or does coach feel that boat has sailed? That boat has sailed with Winchester. |

I was at the Moeller/Fairmont game where I learned from a reliable source that the Wright State coaches already knew that Davenport would not qualify. I also understand that Jack Hendricks of Fairmont was offered a Prefer Walk-on status by Wright State. I know Malone has offered and several D2/D3 have offered Jack.

Just how does a kid from a private, college prep high school not qualify? How was he eligible to play his senior season? or in the state playoffs?

Well, that's some news that I don't think any of us saw coming. I seriously doubt we ever see Davenport is a Raider Uniform. Once he gets to prep school and performs like I think he will, some of the big boys will probably come calling. I hope I'm wrong though. Pretty much my initial thoughts as well. Hopefully he formed a good bond with the coaches and some of his incoming teammates. Helps us some that he's a local kid and Moeller guys have done well at Wright State in the past though. Was really excited to watch him play in the green and gold - hopefully that's just delayed. |

FWIW, the 3 new guys have been listed in WSU's Directory for awhile so, I assume all of the paperwork has been taken care of and I assume they'll take some Summer classes too.
For some reason Malachi's name wasn't showing up today but, the directory wasn't showing everyone named Smith ( and cut it off with the J Smith's ).

They have to take summer classes if they want to participate in summer workouts.

Thanks Big D, I just meant that Davenport's name never showed up so, good to know the other 3 seemed to get to the next stage in the process.

Is Malicah Smith considered a point guard in Nagy's system? If so, I would imagine he will play this year as a true Freshman. Someone will need to back up Gentry at the point.
