this is a no-brainer, the most important thing is to keep the tourney final on Tuesday night for visibility. Just have the semi's and final in Detroit. Early round games can be played at the higher seeds arena. I disagree with this statement. I think the most important thing for the HL is to play our championship game with a packed house on a nationally televised game. Our current set up has been a complete failure. The tournament has been stretched out over too many games. Fans don’t want the men’s and women’s games together, and no one wants to travel to Detroit to see the tournament. The tournament in Detroit looks like a few high school teams are playing in an NBA facility based on crowd sizes and that does not look good for the HL. We should be trying to get the tournament in a city fans will want to travel to and have the tournament from Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Sunday if we want to have opening round games. More people will travel to a tournament that takes place mostly on a weekend and is only 3-4 days.. If ESPN doesn’t want to broadcast our championship game on Sunday we should not renew our contract with them and approach Foxsports or another network. ESPN is already screwing over every midmajor fan by broadcasting our games this year on their new online subscription site. This is just another reason we should be looking for a new home for our games.

does anyone hold out a glimmer of hope that this league with its current leadership has any chance of turning around this ship and getting it headed back up in the rankings. I do not and see us as a low major league, maybe bottom quartile of div i leagues. You know who really looks smart these days. Leadership st butler, loyola and valpo. They got off the sinking ship.

I don’t have much faith in the HL. I said this a few months back and stand by it today. I hope the best for the HL but WSU needs to take care of our own business and keep our options open. We really need to do 2 things these next couple years to make ourselves attractive to other conferences. The university needs to gets it’s finances in order. That is probably hurting us more than anything else. We made a profit last year and avoided fiscal watch but we need to get enrollment up to start generating more revenue. The second thing we need to do is dominate the HL. We have good facilities and good fan support. If we go dancing consistently over the next several years we are going to look attractive to the MVC the next time they consider expansion. The MVC wants to add Murray State. They need to add a travel partner. They want Belmont but they aren’t interested. WSU and NKU are their next most viable options. I have a feeling that if either one of us prove ourselves to be the next big dog in the HL the next couple of years we are going to get invited with Murray State. I think we can do that with Nagy.

Green Bay has a new logo. Not much of a response on their twitter feed, but their Facebook followers HAAAAAATE this! 131 comments; two of them positive (see below) They outsourced it to a design firm in Pennsylvania instead of consulting the art department/students. They didn't consult alumni or the student body. It seems like few people have much of a problem with the previous logo. It's also a ripoff of the old Packers logo. Not a great move by the higher ups here. My discontent for WSU's rebranding to the wolf has been well documented here and elsewhere(I still maintain it's total bullshit. Why change all the branding except for the name?! Aaarrrrggghhh!), so I feel the discontent. Green Bay fans are not happy right now. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156512240939347&id=31166674346

This is pending background checks, etc. Strickland obviously has the NBA pedigree and has previously served Director of Basketball Operations under Calipari at KU. However, he has three DUIs on his record. Is that enough to keep someone out?

The background check will consist on the investigator looking at Strickland’s phone to see if he has the Uber or Lyft app and has actually used it since the last DUI. :-)

LeCrone is an even bigger idiot than I thought if he thinks anyone is going to travel to Detroit for a 2 day tournament on a Monday and Tuesday. This year is the nail in the coffin for MCM.
