Unlike a university ~60 miles east of us, This "football" team took care of business Sat. evening vs a team from Indiana with Purdue in its name. Raiders win, 1-0.

Men have another opportunity for a Top-100 road win this evening as they travel to Huntington, WV to take on the Thundering Herd. Marshall comes into the match with a 5-7-2 record, but a RPI of #85.
We've played 5 common opponents with Wright State going 4-1 and the Herd 3-2. This is their 3rd ranked opponent this year, losing the previous two matches by identical scores (0-1) to Virginia and Kentucky.
This will be a tough test for the Raiders. The match is being streamed on C-USA TV (subscription required), but can be heard live on Marshall's radio network.

Men bridled The Herd last night with a 3-1 victory down in Huntington. Raiders improve to 12-1-2 overall and 5-1-1 vs. Top-100 Opponents. We may...may...have another chance for a Top-100 road victory this Sat at Green Bay. The Phoenix currently have a RPI of #111, but with a home match with #22 WSU and a road tilt at #85 Oakland next week the Phoenix may rise (get it?) into the top 100.

Men lost a tough match at Green Bay Saturday evening, 0-1. It's the first time all season the club was held scoreless. We're still in first place, with a 1-game lead, over UIC and each team has one remaining match...so we control our destiny. Next match: This Friday evening vs. Milwaukee.

As the P.A. announcer for Men's Soccer, I hope that you'll (the reader) come out on Friday Night to watch the Raiders play at Alumni Field. We'll have Senior Night before the Milwaukee match. This is quite an incredible team, and it's been great to be the announcer.
