Lost 3-1 on our home field. UIC was hot on our tails all season and got the better of us when it counted most. Bummer.

Through yesterday's games our RPI was #35. I actually thought it would drop farther with a home loss. Anyhow, if...and that's a Big IF...if the selection process is based on RPI and how the auto qualifiers have played out we would be the last team selected.
Akron, Denver, G'town, New Hampshire, and IU did us a big favor by winning their respective conference tournaments.
However, there were still matches played today, including a few of those conference winners listed above, that haven't been updated into RPI's. So, our RPI can still move up or down and other teams around us (e.g., UNC-Wilmington, UC Davis, Portland, James Madison, SMU) can too.
Our issue maybe our strength-of-schedule. Only two other at-large possibilities (who are rated better overall in RPI) have a worse SOS---Air Force and High Point. You have to drop all the way down to RPI #71 (Loyola-Maryland) to find a worse Strength-of-Schedule than the Raiders. Only High Point has a worse out-of-conference sos than Wright State and all those just below the projected cutline have much better out-of-conference sos except for Wilmington.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out tomorrow...

Through yesterday's matches, which was the completion of tournaments and regular season for some, our unofficial RPI remained at #35.
The NCAA, on their site, will announce the field at 1 PM today.
UIC finished with a #32 RPI, which is the 11th best of 24 conference auto-bids.
The HL finished with an overall RPI of 16, out of 24.
Lastly, we completely tumbled out of Top Drawers National rankings...probably not a good sign...

Didn't make the cut...
Portland (RPI #36) and Wilmington (RPI #41) received at-large bids.
FWIW, if IUPUI wasn't in the Horizon LeCrone the HL's RPI would have been #14, up 2, and Wright State's would have been #29. Now, a non-con match would have needed to be on the schedule, but a regional team with a RPI under 140 would have given WSU a RPI of #31...possibly good enough this year.
Anyhow, it was a good year for men's soccer. Lots of firsts for the program and the athletic dept with a top-20 national ranking for several weeks.

Lastly, we completely tumbled out of Top Drawers National rankings...probably not a good sign... Yeah, you lose a lot of cred by completely failing to show up in your conference championship on your home turf. Bummer we didn't get in, but, just like in basketball, you can do all you want during the regular season, if you don't win your conference championship (at least as a MM program), you aren't getting in.
