William & Mary Director of Athletics Samantha K. Huge announced on Tuesday that Dane Fischer will serve as the 31st head men’s basketball coach in Tribe history. Fischer, a 16-year coaching veteran, comes to W&M after spending the last four seasons as the top assistant at George Mason.

It is the dawn of a new era for Temple University men’s basketball, as Aaron McKie officially takes over the program where he starred as a player under Hall of Fame head coach John Chaney and recently served as an assistant coach for five seasons under Fran Dunphy.

Buzz Williams has decided to return home and just officially accepted the Men’s Head Basketball Coach position at Texas A&M. This will be the fourth stop for Buzz Williams after putting together a career record of 253-155.

This could be changing soon. Reports are coming in that Mick Cronin is nearing a deal with UCLA. One would think Brannen would be near the top of the list for UC if that were the case. |

The UC AD and the money people behind UC Athletics wanted Cronin gone. Last fall they offered him a contract extension that would actually cut his pay. He inherited a program that was in total disarray after Huggins left and got them back on the national stage. UC will be hard pressed to find a better coach than Cronin.
