Let's take a poll. Which two D2 programs will grace our schedule next year? Central State, Cedarville, Urbana, Findlay? Just because we will be playing 20 conference games doesn't mean these D2 games won't show up again this year.

wait!!! wait!!!! wait l!!! bbj. A are you deliberately omitting the mighty Ohio valley university fighting scots??? a university with an enrollment of about 400, roughly the same number of students that were in one of the seminar classes I took at wsu many years ago.
by adding Fort Wayne we have added another drag on our sos for coming years. unfortunately I have not seen any inclination to play good teams in the non con so it will be very tough to get a respectable ranking (net, kenpom, saga fin or rpi) , whichever is your ranking of choice.
a few years ago we did a home/home with North Carolina a & m, I believe. they are pereniallly one of the lowest ranked div i programs. I could not understand why. we are doing the same thing with Tennessee tech, I believe it is. playing home and homes with teams like that does not serve our program well. (I say that knowing full well that nca&m beat us down there) . there has got to be a better scheduling model than the one we are using.

For the love of God, can you at least wait until the schedule comes out before you write a 3 paragraph rant bitching about our schedule that you know next to nothing about yet. Your negativity gets beyond old Keith.

Must be a stay at home warning going on! LMFAO

Coach Nagy has already stated several times this season at the coaches show and in DDN articles that he knows this year's schedule was weak and it needs to improve next year. 2. Keith, we have not played a home and home with North Carolina a & m since Coach Nagy has been here. That was on a schedule put together by another coach in the past. If you want to complain about Coach Nagy's scheduling can you at least complain about games he actually scheduled and played. 3. We just finished Coach Nagy's 4th season here. His home and home schedules in those 4 years have been: Miami, Kent State, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Murray State, Indiana State, and Tenn Tech. I think Tenn Tech is the only bad H/H series we signed and we were stuck doing that last year because Murray State backed out of renewing their H/H contract at the last minute and we were stuck scrambling at the last minute to find someone. 4. We have played solid P5 and other higher rated conference schools in tournaments and buy games since Nagy has been here: Georgia Tech, Miss St, Penn St x2, SMU, La Salle, Missouri St, Loyola, and Georgia St. 5. We need to do much better with our buy games at home. They have been the lowest rated games on our OOC schedule for the most part. I'd rater see us take a few more buy games on the road in the future than schedule some of these cupcakes.

I would not direct any complaints about the schedule toward WSU until the complete schedule is released. Even then, I would limit the complaints. The Horizon has really screwed the member schools in attempting to put together a good schedule. The 20-game conference schedule combined with the Summit Showdown is completely moronic. It takes away 4 non-conference games, so now Wright State only has control over 9 games on the schedule(really only 6 or 7 games when you don't include an MTE). What makes it even worse to me is the timing of the Horizon-Summit Showdown. The week before and week of Thanksgiving is when a lot of the better MTEs are scheduled. I'm afraid it could prevent Wright State from playing in an MTE where they could play some quality opponents. This site has a good list of scheduled MTEs so far: www.bloggingthebracket.com/2019/11/27/20985709/2020-21-college-basketball-early-season-tournaments-mte-thanksgiving-holiday-tournaments Cleveland State is currently slated to compete in the Paradise Jam November 20-23, so I'm not sure if something will change or if Cleveland State isn't participating the Showdown on those dates.

Great news. It's great to play a close "rivaly" game against another decent MM program. There is absolutely zero reason we don't play Miami every year until one of us either takes off or tanks.

This is a decent tournament for WSU. Being in Nashville, the travel cost should be low for us and the competition is all decent and beatable. Here are those schools NET from last season: Georgia St 134 Valpo 138 Towson 154

That's 8 games so far that make up our non-conference schedule. If we have a 20 game conference schedule, which I almost certain is the case, then that leaves only 3 more non-conference games to be added to the schedule. With the addition of Robert Morris and the possibility of a 22 game conference schedule, then we are down to 1 more non-conference game. It has already been stated that due to lack of funds, we will not be doing any "buy games" like we have in the past. So unless there is a new home & home contract with another MAC or MVC or similar conference school, it appears to me that we will be looking at going on the road as a "buy" team for at least 1 game and maybe as many as 3. Quite frankly, given the unusual circumstances due to the so called pandemic, I would not mind seeing a 22 game conference round robin schedule this year. That would give us home 14 games vs 17 last year, but 2 of those 17 were against D2 opponents. I would much rather watch a game in December vs a conference foe than a game vs the likes of the Delta Devils or Southern out of the SWAC.

Was looking around and checked on the status of the Tennessee Tech return game. According to D1 Docket, this game appears to be the opener at home for us on 11/10. I am sure that may be subject to change.
