wow common sense prevails. A rarity in this day in age. We'll never know but I wonder if there was some pressure applied to the HL to change their thinking by one more more universities. I get what they were trying to do with the magic formula but with CSU and WSU playing an equal number of games it makes little sense to use a formula rather than simply declaring co-champions if that's how it plays out. |

I'd much rather be last year's WSU team and carve through your regular schedule and have one off game in the league tournament than be a team like IUPUI or IPFW and have a trash season, get hot, win the tourney, and then get smacked around by a 1 or 2 seed and lose by 40.
It is your consistent 20 win seasons, your 15 win conference seasons, your sheer domination of teams night in and night out that builds a program, gets fans, and lands better recruits. Look at UMBC, they had one hell of an upset in the NCAA tourney a few years ago, and what of them now? Crickets. So many mid majors win the tournament and go quietly into the night after a 15-2 or 16-1 game. Consistency is key, not one hot week in March.
