Games 8/9: Oakland

Nobody is happier than Jim after a Raider win that’s for sure. As much as it stinks we haven’t been able to attend any games this year, I do not miss the announcer during the games. He seemed to try too hard to get people pumped up after a made basket by shouting the players name in a drawn out way.

Yes. The new guy was very annoying to me. His inflections on some words were so wrong they made them incomprehensible.
I always felt like going up to him and saying “act like you been here before”.

As far as Jim Brown is concerned i have all the respect in the world for him as a man. He would add more to a broadcast if he contributed less, though.

I think that right there is the primary issue we all have. He dominates the broadcast rather than the play-by-play guy. Chris Collins is a world class broadcaster but speaks less than half the time. Coach Brown reiterates the same points (Often good points. Don’t get me wrong, but SO repetitive) or meanders through anecdotes while the action proceeds. I’ve run to the kitchen while the game was on listening to the broadcast, returned to my seat, and had no idea there was a monster dunk or big turnover until they showed a replay. He doesn’t need to shut up entirely or anything, but get a better feel for the point of a broadcast and the color guy’s role therein.

Stil hoping he’s got the call instead of the Oakland guy.

Sounds like the announcer is doing the broadcast with a mask on. I wasn't aware that the virus could be transmitted through the radio or TV.
