Seems like Gates keeps finishing runner up for jobs. Maybe CSU and the HL catch a break and he stays another year. I'm not sure his stock gets any higher than it is now so km guessing he's hoping to cash in now though. |

Sounds like Depaul's first choice is former Calipari assistant Kenny Payne. That was another job Dennis Gates' name was being thrown around for. Nothing official, but it appears Gates will be passed over again.

Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger is retiring. They will get a big time head coach to continue the program.

Marquette is set to hire Shaka Smart as their next head coach, which will open up another huge vacancy, this time at The University of Texas.

The ass kicking CSU got in the NCAAs took a little bit of the luster off of Gates as the hot coach. I think the same can be said about Nagy and our epic collapse against UWM in the HL tournament. P5 ADs need to be able to sell their next coach to boosters as the guy that will take them to the next level. Those kind of performances at the end of the year hurt them both, which benefits the HL. |

Rumors flying at UC, including allegations of misconduct within the MBB program, as well as John Brannen potentially being fired. This is all we have from the school at this time, but it doesn't sound good for Brannen:
