The Wright State baseball program opens its 2022 season with a three-game set against No. 11 Georgia Tech from February 18-20 at Russ Chandler Stadium. All three games will air on ACC Network Extra. Live stats will also be provided.

5 in the 9th and then blew it on a walkoff. Season started right where it left off. 9th inning leads blown to nationally ranked teams. No morale victories. Hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow.

We lost a close game to a ranked team. It will look good on our resume at the end of the year. Hopefully we can take the next 2.

Raiders got off to a great start plating 2 in the first but turned right around and gave up 6 in the bottom half.
Raider pitching woes continue: 8 in the 6th, 2 more in the 7th. Raiders trail 16-5 in the 8th.

Oh crap! Oklahoma State just beat Vandy 4-3. RaiderGang's schedule is not getting any easier.

Raiders had another late lead and squandered it in the 8th with Tech scoring 5 in the 8th to rally 9-6. A weekend of Raider leads all blown by subpar bullpen support.
Schedule doesn't get any easier with 3 at Oklahoma State, ranked 7th nationally.

I will say this......Northern teams that go down south to play are at a distinct disadvantage. I know that #20 ranked Nebraska went down to Sam Houston State and promptly lost their first game. They did manage to win the second game, before losing the next two. They stand at 1-3 right now. Indiana is 0-2. Michigan is 1-1. So, 0-3 is disappointing, but not a surprise.
Also, Oklahoma State took two of three from Vandy.

runt, it seems like most years we can hit with about anybody but our pitching just does not hold up. Not sure how we can recruit better pitching but until we do it will be a struggle early season and in the postseason. I agree with you that teams up here going down south early in the season are going to struggle. If we went down there in may/ early June we would be more competitive.
