Does anyone know if we are making any efforts at transfer portal additions? I think those who ignore the portal are operating at a serious disadvantage. Well I just saw discussion on another thread that answered my question.

There are a handful of HL teams making big time moves in the transfer portal and are going to be much stronger for it next year. Our staff is getting left behind, IMO based on how passively they are recruiting the portal.

I’m not worrying until I see where our final roster stands for next season. You can make an argument right now that our coaches are being very selective because we didn’t lose any scholarship players to the portal and only have 1 spot to fill for next year. Many of the teams you see utilizing the portal so much are the teams that lost a lot of players to the portal too. On paper, several of those teams have gotten much stronger for next year. I like what we have returning from last year’s team. I really like our incoming recruiting class. It really is one of the best group of guards I can remember us ever signing in one class. If we land a solid post player in the portal and can add a walk on or two, I’m going to be pretty excited about our team going into next year.

I agree with you Big D when you talk about the returning players for next season. I think a lot of people strictly look at programs such as Northern Kentucky and the players they have brought in through the transfer portal, but they aren't looking at how many of their players from last season that entered the portal. In the case of Northern Kentucky, they have picked up 3 new players, but they had 7 players enter the portal.

Because it seems like a bunch of players that didn't see many minutes. What loss is that? Nku still has 3 of their better players. At least the Xavier transfer didn't sign with nku. We are asking a lot out of our freshmen group to step up and contribute (including the red-shirts). We absolutely need a solid and proven transfer that can start day one. Not a walk-on or 10th man from a big program, but someone useful. The offense was painful to watch besides Trey and occasionally Noel. Need some offense and hopefully it is also not a guard as we are guard heavy.
