What factors determine who will play at home?

Each conference had to select 1/2 of their teams for home games and 1/2 of their teams for away games when they submitted the teams to ESPN to participate in BB last summer. Typically, if you played a road game last year, the conference selects you as a home game for this year.

Only 2 of the 13 games are only on espn360, so right now we are among the 11 true tv games, assuming espn uses rpi.

I'll take any TV game we can get. It helps recruiting.

I would like to play anyone but a MAC team. As a bracketbuster game I want to see someone we would not normally see. MAC teams we can almost schedule at will.

The most recent update above has us ranked at the 11th best home team. That would get us into one of the 13 TV games on ESPN. I like the match up with Northern Iowa too. They are 12-6 overall and currently in first place in the MVC with a 7-1 record. I'd like N. Iowa too. It would be pretty sweet if we could move up enough to get paired up against VCU. Their coach played his college ball at UD. It might help bring a few more fans to the game. I just hope we don't get stuck with Buffalo. I don't want to have to make that return trip next year. Opposed to making a return trip to good ol' Northern Iowa?!

northern iowa of the mvc would be a great opponent. vcu would be as well. i would take either of those. it is too bad the choices aren't made until feb 8, because our rpi will jump after we knock off butler. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think i know what you mean, though your statement is a bit confusing. We will beat Butler on the 7th. So, do you think the committee will count this in the rpi bracket buster match ups? Or will they base them on the latest official rpi rankings? A win @ Cleveland State would also improve our rpi.

I wouldn't really consider N. Iowa or Buffalo an ideal place to return a trip to next year but I'll take either one if we can get a tv game this year.

They would much rather sit on a bus for 9 hrs to Cedar Rapids instead of 6.5 hrs to Buffalo. Just like our athletic department will much rather spend the money on fuel for an extra 5 hrs on the bus.
