Right now, we only have 14 conference games that are certain to be on the schedule next year since we are down to 8 schools. I don't know how we are going to find enough opponets to have a +/- 28 game schedule with only 14 conference games. The longer this conference realignment mess drags out, the harder it will be for Billy and Bob Grant to craft a schedule for this upcoming season.

Not to worry BBJ, they just voted to allow up to 10 non D1 games in the HL...just kidding but, I can almost promise that we'll play the maximum number of games. Good news is that if Lecrone is correct and changes are made for 2013-14 then I suggest that this time around someone can feel free to let the leaks begin as far as any expansion.

Personally, I think if the HL has some definite commits they should release the info ASAP. The longer the HL is down 2 teams, is losing the automatic bid for baseball, and there is speculation that other teams are possibly looking to leave, the more WSU fans, and other fans, are thinking we should be looking elsewhere for some form of security.
If we get to early July and the HL is still whistling by the graveyard I think the fans should really begin to pitch a fit. We'd better not send out season ticket sign up sheets until this expansion issue is addressed. As of this moment we are sitting with a 8 team league with a very weak schedule for next season. Who would want to be forced into signing up for a new season under those circumstances?

Who would want to be forced into signing up for a new season under those circumstances? I would highly suggest that all WSU fans NOT hold out on renewing their season tickets. All you are doing is hurting WSU. First, I think our team has earned the right to play in front of a huge supportive fan base next year no matter who we are playing. It's not their fault the HL has screwed up expansion. Don't punish them. Second, if you are a WSU fan, now is the time to show your support. If things do not work out for us in the HL, we want to be an attractive candidate to another conference. The more fans we get into the stands, the more money we have to spend on athletics.

Though MU is a MAC opponent that isn't really a team we count on for a low RPI, I enjoy this series. The games are normally very competitive and I think the fan bases of both teams enjoy the rivalry.

I am thrilled to read this. It just didn't seem to make sense that this series WOULDN'T continue considering the state of both programs (low mid-majors, history of fun/competitive games, location, etc). Always look forward to the Miami-WSU games. They could turn into my generation's UD.

Wright State will be playing at DePaul on Saturday November 16. I really hope this isn't a buy game.

I too hope this isn't a buy game. But I bet that it is. However, there is some good news regarding this game. Obviously we needed to amp up our schedule a bit this year due to the success of last years team. I think we could learn a lot from playing a Big East team...however, this Depaul team went 11-21 last year, and only won 2 games inside the Big East, good enough for dead last place. This team also lost to the recently exiled Loyola Ramblers team on their own court last season. Even if they are the tail of the lion, a win against a BCS team is a win in my book. Can't remember the last time we beat a BCS team? South Florida Bulls back in 08?

I have a sinking feeling that our SOS next season will be nothing to boost about. Our toughest teams may be within the HL schedule.
