Let's all hope that Butler beats Cleveland State at noon today for a couple of reasons.
1. A CSU loss still gives us a chance for the third seed. 2. A Butler win means that Green Bay no longer can win the Horizon League and they already have the second seed locked up so our game tonight would be meaningless from Green Bay's perspective. Green Bay might just hold Schachtner out tonight if they have nothing to play for ( sprained his ankle in their last game ) plus they already are without their best defender in Terry Evans.
So, go Bulldogs ( man that is hard to say )!!!!

riceownz2, I have no idea if Kyle is better then Ronnie, Gavin, or Cooper. I would assume that in coach Brownell's opinion Kyle was not better then any of them or he would have played in front of them.
From the limited time Kyle got in game action what always impressed me was how athletic Kyle appeared compared to the other three centers. I always felt like Kyle played with a high level of energy and was very aggressive, especially on the defensive end.
I don't see how we can bring in a JUCO for next year. Our sophomore class this year already has five players (Vaughn, Troy, Cooper, N'Gai, and Scottie ). I can see us bring in two or three in two years when we have zero players in that grade.
Like I mentioned earlier I just hope it works out for all parties involved.

My initial reaction is one of disappointment. This whole situation was just weird to me.
Some random thoughts: - Coach Brownell must have thought very, very little of Kyle when you consider that the other centers playing in front of him are average to below average centers in the Horizon League. - We now have zero players in the sophomore class. - I hope he goes somewhere and has a positive experience on the basketball court. - It is so hard for mid majors to get big men that something major had to of happened for Kyle to virtually not play this year and for coach Brownell to apparently be OK with Kyle leaving ( he used the word mutual). - Kyle obviously had some smarts because he was on the honor roll this past quarter. - I hope we can fill a need this Spring with Kyle's scholarship. - What does this situation mean in regards to DJ Cunningham? - We better have get serious JUCO's lined up in two years or we won't have and post players in a couple of years. - Bad timing with the news that Gavin is injured
Well, I hope it all turns out for the better for both Kyle and WSU. Does this remind anybody else of the Marcus May banishment?

It also wouldn't surprise me to see JDG call it quits if his chronic hip, feet, and back prevent him from competing. This might be especially true if he is able to earn his bachelors degree this Spring or Summer.
I agree with Sixth Man that Kyle might bolt if he doesn't see his situation improve. I hope not but you never know.
All I know is that if Gardner isn't able to play next year we have no/zero/nada point guards on our roster. N'Gai isn't a true point and from what coach Brownell has said about Carthian he isn't a true point either so if JD can't go we are in a world of hurt at the point. Vaughn may be the point by default next year.

I am curious as to who will start our game versus Northeastern. I really liked the starting five coach Brownell put out their to start the second half against UIC. The starters for the second half were:
Will Graham Scott Grote Todd Brown' Cory Cooperwood Gavin Horne
This unit seemed to play well together and got us the lead. What was really interesting was that Scott Grote ran the point with this lineup. I also like that it makes us bigger.
With the way our guards ( Will, N'Gai, & Troy ) have struggles scoring lately I would love to see this line to start Saturday's game.

We gave this game away. We had three chances to win.
1. Grote makes his free throws 2. We don't allow 3 offensive rebounds in the last 12 seconds 3. Cory makes his point blank layup at the buzzer.
This game is over and it should have been a W on the road.
VERY DISSAPPOINTING

Cooper Land has to hit the weight room big time this summer. He just gets pushed around under the basket.
The foul differetial is unreal.

We need to buckle down on defense or we're going to lose this game. We can't seem to stop these guys.
How in the world did we hold them to 31 points in the last game?

We're missing some point blank shots.
Nice trey by Troy. Maybe he'll get hot this half.
