fridge, fans of the raiders often question why we not not get respect in this town. as long as we continue to schedule teams like Ohio valley, tiffin, cedarville etc. we will continue to be the red headed step child of hoops in this town. Bbj said it best. This is an embarrassment to raiders hoops.

It looks like the non-conference schedule has quietly been added to the Wright State website: wsuraiders.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=168Sadly it looks like there will be multiple non-D1 opponents (Cedarville and Northwestern Ohio). • Oct 31 (Wed) 7:00 PM vs Notre Dame College (Ohio) (Exhibition) • Nov 7 (Wed) 7:00 PM vs Western Carolina% • Nov 10 (Sat) TBA at Murray State • Nov 14 (Wed) 7:00 PM vs Toledo • Nov 17 (Sat) 7:00 PM vs North Florida% • Nov 20 (Tue) 8:30 PM vs Penn State% • Nov 21 (Wed) TBA vs Bradley/SMU% • Nov 27 (Tue) 7:00 PM vs Cedarville • Dec 1 (Sat) TBA at Indiana State • Dec 5 (Wed) 7:00 PM vs Miami (OH) • Dec 8 (Sat) TBA at Kent State • Dec 13 (Thu) 7:00 PM vs Northwestern Ohio • Dec 18 (Tue) 7:00 PM vs Morehead State • Dec 22 (Sat) TBA at Mississippi State
Unless something changes, this appears to be a complete non-conference schedule as I believe it puts the schedule at 31 games(including conference play). Western Kentucky is not listed, so it seems that series may have been cancelled.
So our home schedule for the year consists of the following: - Notre Dame College (Exhibition) - D2 - Western Carolina - Southern Conference 11-19, 215 rpi - Toledo - 2nd in MAC (1st in MAC West), 22-11, 75 RPI - North Florida - 3rd in A-Sun, 11-19, 194 RPI - Cedarville - D2 - Miami (OH) - 8th in MAC (3rd in MAC East), 14-17, 159 RPI - Northwestern Ohio - NAIA - Morehead State - Last place in OVC, 6-21, 292 RPI In summary, we have five D-1 teams on our home slate. Toledo (22-11) is the only one that had a winning record last year. The overall combined records of the other four is 42-76. Miami is in Year 2 of a new coach who already looks like he's making big strides. We should get a decent crowd from them based on that and familiarity. Toledo is never going to be bad with Little Coach K and a quick look at their roster seems like they didn't graduate anyone of consequence. They could be very good this year. I'm not so sure we'll be doing a whole lot of ticket business with Morehead, Cedarville, and the directional schools. When league play starts, we have the following to look forward to: - UWM: lost five major players due to transfer, as well as three incoming freshmen amidst a double rebuilding project. They'd have the worst outlook if not for... - Detroit-Mercy: what a f*cking mess!Everyone of consequence is gone after they fired their coach and couldn't find anyone to replace him until last month. This will be BRUTAL - NKU: Only returns three rotation players (among them, though, is the hatable Drew Macdonald, who will probably will himself and the other parts of his split personality to a win). They'll still be pretty solid, though. - Oakland: Lost their big players due to graduation and Brock going D2 without telling anyone first. Rebuilding year. - IUPUI is IUPUI and I hate them - Youngstown State will improve, but they're still pretty deep in that basement from Slocum's decade long Reign of Malaise. - I haven't paid attention to UWGB or Cleveland State, so...average? - UIC will be SO much better without Dixson trying to run his own system, but they have a lot of making up to do. So, bottom line: let's go beat the shit out of these guys and win Cancun. Just don't expect a lot of people to be there.

Well, that's really disappointing.
What's the deal with Northwestern Ohio? The women played an AWAY game there last year. An away game! They are a D II NAIA program. We shouldn't be playing them and the least of all none of our programs should play a D II NAIA program at their place. What the hell is going on here?
Western Kentucky was supposedly a 4-year home-home series. Did they use Wright State for a home game last year? If they did use us and cancel the series hopefully we were at least smart enough to have a buyout clause in the contract. That's just standard operating procedure. The market rate is $90K. So, at worse WSU better be $90K richer....

I'm hoping the dates available didn't work out for the 2 schools this year so they agreed to resume the remaining 3 years of the contract starting next year. I hope this is addressed when the article about the schedule roll out.

With Skyelar Potter being a Raider, I hope he gets a chance to play WKU a few times.

I hope this is addressed when the article about the schedule roll out. Western Kentucky realized how good we are going to be, and decided that they no longer wanted to continue the remaining three years of the series, which included 2-of-3 games at WSU. Rather than taking the chance of getting beat by us, they decided to pay us off to discontinue the series, as per our contract with them. We've already got our check.

The schedule has been removed from the website. It looks like someone screwed up by posting it before it was finalized, otherwise, I see no reason for them to pull it off the website after it was posted here.

Might this be the worst OOC home schedule in our DI history? Good Lord

Why are we (the Horizon League) not pairing up with another conference for non-conference games? Sign a contract to play each other thru some match formula each year. There has to be a solution to this scheduling problem. Opti Why would a decent conference want to sign a contract like that with the HL? The HL is complete trash and we are now considered a low major. The only conferences that might be interested in that have programs that aren’t going to help our scheduling issues.

What conference would be worse than Div 2 teams? You have to start somewhere. Opti Opti, You are talking about eliminating 2 buys games off our home schedule to replace them with a conference challenge. If we did that or just scheduled 2 more home and home series with other schools we would be losing a home game off our schedule. That isn’t going to happen. We make more money by hosting the 2 non-D1 teams than we would make from playing 1 home game and 1 road game from adding 2 new series. I don’t like it either but financially we need to play a certain number of home games each year to help offset the cost of the basketball team.

FWIW, guess MSU decided not to play our game in Jackson. The game is in Jackson. Played at the Mississippi Coliseum. Game time and TV are still TBA....

MRose, wasn't going to respond since my original mention was meant for wsuraiders.com but, they corrected the location. In my day dreaming state I actually got out the atlas to check where Jackson was ( and Starkville ) when we first heard the game was scheduled.

Schedules are dropping in Twitter. We will end our season in Wisconsin. Not how I’d draw it up if I could make the schedule.
