Here is what we know so far:
Home games: Toledo Miami OH Western Kentucky Western Carolina (Cancun Challenge) North Florida (Cancun Challenge)
Away games: Mississippi State Indiana State Penn State (Cancun Challenge) SMU or Bradley (Cancun Challenge)
Speculations: --I think the contracts with Toledo, Kent State, and Murray State are done. I hope we can renew some of those series. --I hope we are done with scheduling D2/3 teams. If we want to take the next step as a program, we have to improve our OOC schedule.
Please post updates if you hear anything.

There is a scheduling board for coaches over on basketballtraveler.com. Wright State is looking for an MTE over Thanksgiving weekend on the message board so it doesn't look like we will be hosting a tournament this year.

Was our game this year with WKU a home and home contract? I hope it is. For some reason I thought we went there as a buy game.

I hope the mte in Idaho has some good teams. playing good teams on a neutral court gives us a better chance to pick up a quality win or two. I agree , as I have for many years, that we need to play div i only, and they need to be good mid majors or bcs teams.

Do we have any hope of dropping DII games completely off of the schedule next season? Judging from Nagy’s past seasons with us I’m guessing not, but hopefully I’m missing something.

If we can’t get a good mid major or power 5 here you don’t want to play someone like Delaware St. at 351 RPI just because they are Div. 1.
If you can’t fill the schedule with good Div. 1 teams we throw our seeding away playing teams with 250+ RPI so that in a nutshell is why we schedule the non Div. 1 teams. It will be tough to get good teams to play us away, little long playing at the Nutt House.

IF we go that route, I would like to see us play CSU, Cedarville, Findlay or Witt----they would at least bring fans that typically don't go to WSU games. My preference is we have none of those games at all, but if the powers that be still put two of those games on the schedule then at least make it a team that might help support attendance for a game that typically draws barely 3k.

If we can't get a home and home vs a team that will help our RPI it doesn't mean we have to settle for buy games vs D2 schools at home. We can give up some of our home games on our schedule and either schedule more 2 for 1's with better schools or even take more buy games on the road vs higher RPI teams. The key with that is to schedule teams we can compete against. Taking a money game at Duke is pointless. Playing a middle of the pack power 5 conference school would help us. Our problem lies with bob Grant. He isn't going to let us give up home games.

I think giving up home games for next year and looking to the future for better Home and Home or 2 for one would be better. Would like to see some more MVC games. We will have a competitive team and play exciting basketball. Would prefer buy in if would be on TV, preferably, National.

Playing a tourney in Idaho over Thanksgiving I believe. There's only 3 D I programs in Idaho. Let's hope Boise State is putting something together. Being in the Mountain West and their recent success to earn a NCAA/NIT invite they would be able to attract better quality programs than if it's a MTE hosted by either Idaho or Idaho State.

Playing 2 homes games vs D2/3 schools is an embarrassment in my opinion. If we want to be taken as a serious D1 program, then play an all D1 schedule. The attendance for these games are terrible, and if we actually pay to have them show up, I have to believe these games are net losers money wise. Sure, in a perfect world I would rather see some 2 for 1 games vs teams like an Iowa State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, etc, but that just seems nearly impossible to do. And with the all of P5/6 conferences eventually going to a 20 game conference schedule( Big 10 is doing this upcoming season) I think those kind of deals will be a thing of the past. Quite frankly, I would rather see us take 1 or 2 buy games vs the likes of Duke, Kansas, etc vs these D2/3 home games. At least we get some much needed revenue to help offset other expenses, and those games are usually on TV which gives us some much needed exposure. With the talent we have now and with the recruits coming in, I think we could at least be competitive in games vs the elites in the near future. Ya can't beat'em if ya don't play'em.
