I wonder if the pressure all year leading up to this game got to the Raiders...once they lost some early games it's kind of like the rest of season doesn't mean a whole lot since there is no chance of an at large bid. Raiders are probably right where they should be in this conference. They can win it or compete for it every year. Valpo did make their tourney championship but overall they've struggled in the MVC being pretty irrelevant. I think in the MVC WSU would be a 5-8 seeded team most years. 5-8 season in the mvc is better than 1 in the hl, imo. I mean Bradley the 4 seed was projected to get a better seed than us, single digit losses and the conference champs.

I'm disappointed we lost tonight. I'm more disappointed in all of the fair weather fans on this board. How about you just let people complain and feel disappointed. It is warranted after a loss like this. How about you just go away then the rest of us can feel better.

17-60 shooting 7-28 3 point shooting 15-29 free throws....for those who watched was it good UIC defense, or just bad shooting for the Raiders? Did they have some open looks the Raiders? Great defense initially by UIC and WSU compounded it with frustration.

I'm disappointed we lost tonight. I'm more disappointed in all of the fair weather fans on this board. Not sure there has been much of that. Should we be congratulating the team while they’re down 20 to UIC?

It started on defense...WSU defense. That totally put us out of rhythm offensively and we fell in love with the three to catch up. Loudon Love got frustrated by not getting involved early, and they were really able to make Gentry irrelevant. Tough to watch and stomach. WSU now stands 3-7 in conference championship games. Its hard, as a lifelong fan, knowing there were potentially seven other trips to the tournament left on the table since the first on in 1993. If the script was flipped, that would mean a tournament trip on average every four years since 1993.

We need to get away from the 4 guard offense and get some big athletic guys that go to the rim and finish. Tired of the missed 3 pointers that just keep getting thrown up one after another. Nice when they go in, but stop it if they are not going in.

Tough to see this tonight and this team has been so hard to figure out. It is telling that the Raiders are 3-7 in conference championship games. It seems our teams are generally very talented, well-coached teams, but seldom have a swagger. It would be refreshing to see us play with more consistency and with a killer attitude when we have a superior team.

Not trying to be pedantic but genuinely curious. Horizon League history: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizon_League_Men%27s_Basketball_Tournament

Seeing it again that it is five alone since 2007....how different could the view of the program be if there were five or six tournament trips since 2007 instead of two...

The 2010s were a brutal decade because WSU went 1-5 in championship games. The 20s are not off to a roaring start with tonight's loss

Just think if Donlon won two of those he'd either still be here, or most likely gotten a job at an SEC, ACC, Big10 school. Interesting how one game a year can make these Coaches careers a lot different. I'm not saying better, but different.
The Raiders just can't get over the hump with taking the program to the next level, but still a really good program overall.

We were a fake good team for the most part. There’s a reason our NET was above 100 the entire year, even for a team with that many wins. Let’s play a solid schedule next year and see what happens come league play (yes I know scheduling is hard, I’m not saying it’s in our total control)
