I assume you mean Alex Huibregtse. He's listed as a 6'3" shooting guard from Wisconsin.
I think Hall will start ahead of Basile, but based on previous comments from Nagy, I expect to see both Love and Basile on the court at the same time. I think Basile will get 15-20 minutes per game next year, and maybe more. Finke was a 4* recruit coming out of HS, so I have to assume that he's much more than just a spot up 3 point shooter.

Finke is a terrific defender. Probably not as good of a shooter as Billy but he is a great leader, teammate and can score. But it’ll be great having his defense against these young guards in the league.

A few thoughts: 1. In a recent DDN article, coach mentioned he would like to play Love and Basile together some more and we would have to play more zone to do that. Anyone that knows Nagy at all knows he hates zone with a passion. Honestly I don't expect to see them on the court together for more than 10-15 minutes a game. Coach is just trying to figure out a way to get Basile on the court more because he is a damn good player and we are wasting him on the bench behind Lou. I think he will get 10-15 minutes on the court with Lou playing PF and another 10-15 minutes a game subbing in for Lou at C. With the number of guards on our roster and knowing who we are bringing in next year and still recruiting for next year there is no way Nagy is moving away from his 4 guard lineup. That is still going to be our base system. Basile may start or he may come off the bench. Either way, he will play significant minutes next year.
2. I don't see any scenario where Jaylon Hall is not in our starting lineup. He is one of our most experienced players returning next year. He is our best defender and does a little bit of everything for us on the court.
3. Finke is most likely going to be the front runner to step into the 4 for us when we are playing 4 guards. He is 6-6 and weighs 215-220 right now. I think he is a more athletic version of Wampler from what I have seen.
4. The ball is completely in James Manns court on how much he will play next year. He has all the talent in the world but he needs to play better help defense and he needs to work within our offensive system better if he wants to get significant playing time. I said this a few weeks ago. I could see James starting and being an All HL pick next year and I could just as easily see him getting next to no playing time next year. It all depends on how much he can help the team. Unlike all of us fans, Nagy doesn't care about anyone's individual stats. All he cares about is winning games and who helps the team achieve that goal.
5. Andrew Welage is capable of playing PG for us. He is the kid from Indiana mentioned above. When he fills out more he will be able to play the 1-4 for us. He is an all around great basketball player and has a chance to be a special if he lives up to all of his potential. He really needs to put on some weight to live up to all of that potential.

Big D,
What's the latest on our remaining scholarship for next year?
It'd be nice to find a veteran transfer guard to backup Calvin and spell the other guards similar to the role Ash played this year. Or are we solely looking at in-coming Freshman?

Looks like we're expected to get 6'6" SG/SF Keegan McDowell, grad transfer from Liberty with 2 years eligibility. He graduated from Moeller

Honestly I don’t know. I hope it was our choice because we landed a better recruit but I don’t know. The school he was leaving lost a few other players recently. He might have decided to stay if he thinks he can get more playing time now next year there.

We offered 2 new recruits recently: Jaylon Holmes and Darweshi Hunter. Anyone know if we are trying to get both guys or are we recruiting them for the same position?

Holmes is the experienced PG we would like to add to this class that can step in next year and be in our rotation. He has great length and athleticism. He is a great slasher but he can also shoot decent from 3. He has the size and ability to play the 1-4 guard spots in our system. Hunter would have to sit out next year after transferring. He also has really good length and athleticism. He could play the 2-4 guard spots in our system. He is a really good 3 point shooter that can also slash to the basket and create his own shot. They are both the type of guards we struggled with trying to defend last season. If we land both for next year I would consider this class a grand slam with the 3 incoming freshmen we already signed in the fall. I don't know where we stand with either recruit or how soon either plans to make their college choice but I really like both of them.

Agree 100% I would love to add Holmes as another ball handler on next year's team. Hunter has some nice long term potential as well. You can't have too many athletic guards/wings with some size.

Right now we are looking at 11 scholarship players for our upcoming season, and with 3 of those being freshman, I have to assume at least 1 or 2 or those freshman will be forced to play. I don't think we are looking at a rotation of just 8 guys next season.

Hopefully we are still trying to get in on an experienced guard to bring some leadership at the point. Haven't done the homework to see what if any 5th year players are out there, but it's really what we need to round out our lineup for next year. I just don't feel great with Trey running point for us 35 minutes a night.
