I'll be surprised if there are any College sports played prior to January 2021, if even then. Fear porn has swept the country.

It feels like the current sentiment is if there are any positive COVID tests than we won't be playing. If college sports are trying to play the zero risk game then there is no chance we play this fall. How long that lasts once people realize the financial impact of no football or basketball is going to be key. I think people shift to some risk/reward type models at that point and may start singing a different tune.

Of course they have plans. They aren't stupid. They'd be more stupid to reveal the plans at this time. My feeling is that if there are games played they will be played in empty buildings. You also have travel problems that could result in exposure. You can't keep an entire team and staff in a bubble from the moment they leave home to the time they get back. I'm not normally a pessimistic person but I see no solution to this until there is an effective vaccine and the rates of infection drop to less than .5.

If I was an oddsmaker in Vegas, I'd say we have about 30% odds of playing CBB this season. College Football is basically done even though it hasn't been declared legally dead. Paranoia has swept the land. We have become a nation of brain dead sheep.

Sports are the reward for a functioning society. Unfortunately we’re one of the few that haven’t figured out how to function as a society under a pandemic. Until we do, our favorite sports will continue to pay the price.
Here’s hoping that changes soon so we can watch some Raiders basketball this year.

Honestly I think the only hope that we get a basketball season is an effective vaccine. That way, players, staff, coaches, officials, etc. could all be perceived as immune from the virus and we could get on with sports. I think it's too late for football, and all fall sports in general. There's too much fear and perceived risk into playing contact sports.
I've been so bored without sports. I broke my ankle in May and have been basically relegated to my bed/chair/couch with my foot up since Memorial Day weekend. I never used to watch much golf, but it's my new favorite thing to watch because it's the only thing on. American needs sports, but we're not going to get it because of the perceived risk. All it will take is one football player to end up in the hospital on a vent, or God forbid, die and here come the lawsuits.

I look at our country and it is now ruled by fear. I agree it is not looking good for college football. I think in the current atmosphere basketball is a tougher sell than football since it is indoors versus outdoors which is much safer. We are not the descendants of fearful men, I wish we could remember that.
